Foundation Promotie / Aid Transports to Romania

On Wednesday, March 22, we loaded no less than three trailers in Broek op Langedijk. All five thousand packages of food that we made a few weeks ago with a large group of volunteers are now in Romania! As an extra load of biscuits, various foodstuffs, some furniture and lots of clothes. The three trucks arrived in Romania on Friday, and unloading has already taken place in Marghita, Ticau and Botosani. Monday still in Floresti, Breaza and Reghin. From there, the people on site can ensure that the packages reach the people we look after together. We had already sent the first 1,320 packages a week earlier and some of them have already been distributed. More on that later in this blog, it makes the importance of this action very clear. In addition to loading three trucks, there were also collection jobs and sorting work, it has become a long and busy day that we look back on with satisfaction. Wednesday, March 15, we loaded the first trailer with 1,329 Easter packages along with other useful items. It went smoothly and the truck was nice and not over loaded. In the meantime, this truck has not encountered any problems at the border in Romania and they will unload in Breaza on Monday. There were still collection jobs and the trailers that had been used temporarily as storage have also been unloaded. Seed from bulk packaging is repacked in small bags. We succeeded, the production of 5,000 food packages has been successfully completed! Tuesday, March 7, a group of volunteers has been busy putting all products in the right place, placing the roller conveyor, etc.etc. Children of a youth club of the Reformed Church in BOL have already made 200 at the beginning of the evening. On Wednesday I put the dots on the I and on Thursday 9 March the real work started. About fifty helpers came, despite the bad weather and the cancellation of people who had contracted a respiratory infection. On Friday, March 10, even more people came to help and the job was done before lunch. A small group cleaned up after lunch and then everyone went home with a satisfied feeling. It ran like a well-oiled machine in a pleasant atmosphere. It is always a bit exciting whether enough helpers come. The past week was all about preparations for the packing campaign for Easter packages on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 March. If you know how necessary food is for our target group, we are happy that we were able to stretch the budget for purchasing food a little. In addition, we have received good batches of food from companies and institutions in our network. Five thousand beautiful packages can now be made. So together we can make a lot of people happy with a food package. Next Thursday and Friday it's time, we're going to pack again and make it fun days. We can still use helpers. On Wednesday, March 1, additional auxiliary troops also arrived to sort clothes and pack them into boxes. A tough job with a good result. On Tuesday, February 21, we were able to collect more than 3.000 kg of seed potatoes from farmers in the Wieringermeer, a nice gesture from these kind people. Henk Muller from Band can enjoy his garden projects again. There is also plenty for the gardens in and around Breaza. On Wednesday we were able to load them immediately, together with hospital beds, apples, some cake and other food. Another nice load that arrived in Breaza on Friday evening and was unloaded on Saturday morning. Wednesday was busy with repacking work and loading and collecting, it all ended up on its feet again. Every week there are things that are worth sharing, also this week. On Monday, Jan Kuyer is sorting the medical items, sometimes with someone else's help. Keeping the canteen and toilet group clean is also necessary, Hesva Booden does this on Mondays these days. Without a fuss, this happens every week.
