Monday, March 22, we started collecting seed potatoes from Agro Strum BV in the Wieringermeer, which will be used on the farm in Marghita. The seed potatoes are of the Spunta variety, this potato is doing well in Romania. Gerrit Beetsma put us in touch with the Sturm family, they have a very nice farm. Wednesday, March 24, we immediately loaded some of the beds, together with the seed potatoes, oliebollen mix, Dutch "powder nuts", chocolate spread, clothing, furniture, etc. The truck had a double crew, Friday morning they were already in Marghita. Tuesday March 16 we could pick up beds again at Hoogduinen in Schoorl. The Hrif Foundation from Weesp collected and stored the beds that were offered to us from Vivium Zorggroep Hogewey in Weesp. These beds will also receive a good re-use, Cristi's photos give a good impression of the necessity of a good bed. Many healthcare institutions in Romania still lack an important basic need - a good bed - for their patients. Demand in and around Botosani is high, Cristi, for example, has good contact with the head of child protection in Botosani. The moment he heard that Cristi was handing out beds, she called Cristi and asked why he had not told her this. It turned out that this woman is now also responsible for a number of care centers where there is a lack of everything. So having beds removed to our waste industry here is not the right choice, making reuse possible in a country like Romania takes time and money, but it is the right choice. On Tuesday, March 9, we were able to pick up 21 hospital beds again at the Hoog Duinen care home in Schoorl. Many more beds are becoming available at Magentazorg, we are going to share them with St. HIRF from Weesp. Wednesday March 10th has become a busy day, fortunately there were enough volunteers to help. First, two trucks had to be unloaded with school furniture from the Beatrix de Burcht school in Gorinchem. The transport company that delivered the new furniture for the school was kind enough to take the old furniture to Broek op Langedijk. On Tuesday 2 March we were able to pick up hospital beds in Schoorl at the Hoog Duinen care home, part of Magentazorg.
