Since last Wednesday there has been some space in our storage in Broek op Langedijk. With a relatively small group, we loaded two Romanian trucks, mainly with Christmas gifts. Of the 4.200 we made, more than half is now gone. Loading two trucks from an overcrowded warehouse is actually just a bit too much, but the job is done at 14:30 the last truck left for Romania. The photos and stories we will soon receive from Romania will quickly make you forget the hard work. The pick-up crew also did a nice job and ended up coming in last. The first packages were unloaded in the rain on Saturday in Ticau, it is not the most ideal place to unload there because everything has to be done by hand. Reghina was able to arrange this well again luckily. She got some extra packs this time 440 pieces. Here is the link to photos. The same truck will arrive in Botosani on Monday where the rest will get out. Here is the link to photos. The truck we loaded for Breaza will also arrive there on Monday. Here is

Last Wednesday we had to work hard with collection jobs and unloading three trailers with the relief supplies that we had temporarily stored there. We had received a whole batch of clothing and Christmas items from a retail chain that had to be sorted out. Removing the anti-theft buttons that were still on many items of clothing was also a bit of a chore. We are now ready to send the Christmas packages, next Wednesday two Romanian trucks will be loaded. In Ureterp they held a so-called shoe box promotion to be distributed by St. Phoneo from Reghin. We will take this with us with the next transport. On Thursday a trailer full of cardboard and plastic was brought to Sortiva in Alkmaar, we were left with almost 2,000 kg of packaging material after the production of the packages. We again received appealing photos from Reghina from Ticau, handing out soup to children who do not always get food at home. With winter approaching, these photos and videos take on a different meaning. Here is th

After a week full of efforts, we can look back with satisfaction on a great result, we succeeded in making 4.200 beautiful Christmas gifts! The delivery of the products now came through the Spar organization for the second time. Wilco Linnenbank franchisee of a Spar store in Zaandijk was able to arrange for two trailers of food to be delivered from the distribution center in Waalwijk to Broek op Langedijk. This in good conditions and for a fair price. We had to temporarily relocate our stock that we could not put in the packages. The stock that could fit in the packages had to be placed in the right place on the roller conveyor. On Tuesday, the order for the Spar was added and the set-up that Jan Valk had developed could be put into practice. Wednesday we made some adjustments and made a number of test packages. The catering team was busy making sure that the volunteers would feel welcome and that the inner man could be provided on time. Extra care this time was how to deal with the c

On Wednesday, a number of pick-up jobs were done and a trailer was loaded with destination Breaza. Loading went well and the cargo has now been unloaded in Breaza on Saturday morning. It was a load that they could really use there. The hospitals would like extra beds due to the huge influx of patients. The aid workers who receive goods from the depot of Csaba and Imola encounter more and more people with problems. A box with, for example, food and clothing does not solve all their problems, but it is an important support. On Wednesday we probably started creating space to make the packages. Here is the link to the pictures of loading and unloading. Thursday and Friday we were able to pick up two truckloads of nice stuff, well suited to put in the packages, came available on time. Regina sent pictures of her activities again, go and have a look at them. It shows why these people need help, what poverty. Barefoot kids in the mud at this time of year, I can't stand it.
