On Monday we were able to pick up 10 pallets with bake-off rolls at St. HriF, we had to repack them first. Jan and Maarten were therefore early at work in Weesp, Siem picked it up later. He did not come to Broek op Langedijk with half a load during unloading, it turned out that there was much more in it. A.o. cans with beans in tomato sauce, Henk Muller was very happy with them. They were very useful products for our distribution points in Romania. The Veenstra family is not idle in Weesp, it is always buzzing with activities and ideas, inspiring people who also encourage others to take action. That such a small group of people is able to get so many others in motion and in that way offer a helping hand to many people in need is just great. Here the link to their facebook page. The car that we would load for Botosani on Tuesday was already there on Monday, so he had to wait. On Tuesday morning, the truck that we were to load for Henk Muller from Deaj on Wednesday was already there. Wit

No trailer was loaded this week, but there were plenty of other activities, especially with collection and sorting. You can safely say that sometimes-special things arrive in our warehouse, we can now add - sheep cheese - to that. We received this from Jacob Rispen from Morra, Jacob went to Romania a few times as a driver together with Gerrit de Boer. A few years ago, he and his family started raising sheep to make cheese. This all went well, but due to the pandemic the demand for sheep cheese has plummeted and with it the price. This to a level that he would rather give it away to poor people. Jacob once brought a cheese to Csaba and Imola from Breaza, so he knew from experience that people like it in Romania. Wednesday we were able to pick up a large batch of sheep's cheese from Jacob in Woerden at a cheese factory annex storage. To taste, we cut a cheese, at first questionable faces, but after tasting everyone still liked a piece. I read that it simply tastes delicious and is ev

This week we received the sad news that Wim Loos has passed away. Wim has been a loyal volunteer for many years. With his efforts he could mean a lot for his fellow men, there was not too much for him. We wish Gerda and her family a lot of strength with the great loss. The card we received. Monday we were able to pick up goods in Zaandam, just like at St. Manna in Alkmaar, we are very happy with this. It is now really winter in Romania, it is snowing and it is freezing really hard. The photos and stories we receive change as a result and are an encouragement to continue with our work. On Wednesday January 13, a truck with destination Peris and Breaza was loaded. Toth Attila is going to open a second hand store in Peris next to his new children's home. We were able to provide a nice inventory for this store. Furthermore, many foods and all kinds of delicious things are loaded. The same day we could pick up clothes in Egmond and pick up some other stuff. Here the link to photos. Cris

W e started the year good and full of energy; two trucks were loaded and unloaded at their destination in Romania. Monday, January 4, we loaded a truck in the morning with destination Pieter Nagel in Minis. On Wednesday morning, January 6, he was already unloaded there, Pieter was happy with the load, he can help many poor people to get through the winter months. Here the link to a few photos. Monday afternoon we were able to pick up some goods in Amsterdam, just like Tuesday in Weesp and Harderwijk. Our stock remains well; we can therefore continue to share with people who are less fortunate than we are. With the photos and reports that we share on this blog, we try to make the usefulness and necessity of this clear. Early Tuesday morning a freezer trailer is fully loaded at a cold store warehouse in Amsterdam, with various types of frozen food. Thanks to our contacts, we had hardly any work on this. Friday morning the trailer was unloaded in Botosani in freezing weather, at the end o

The first post on our blog in 2021, we hope that many more will follow with mostly good news. We wish everyone a happy and blessed New Year. In 2020, a piece was posted on this blog every week and therefore provides a nice overview of all activities in that year. We were able to deliver an enormous amount of goods and thus helped a great many people. Thanks to our sponsors, sympathizers, the efforts of our volunteers and the relief workers in Romania, we have been able to realize this. Quite an achievement that we can be a little proud of. The newspapers and all other media have paid a lot of attention to the consequences of the well-known virus. That is why I will not do that all over again in this blog. I prefer to look ahead, fortunately it looks like we will be able to move more freely in the not too distant future. As I wrote before, the people of our target group in Romania have an extra difficult time. Our on-site relief workers are eager to help and we can do just that with the
