Monday 25 July we visited Jozsi Mucui from Asociatia Ichtys. Jozsi runs a soup kitchen in Tirgu Mures, among other things, for children who live there in the Velea Rece district. Thanks to the efforts of Henk Muller and Viorel, we were able to waterproof the roofs of quite a few huts in this district a few years ago. Aid supplies also go here through Henk and Viorel, the living conditions in this district are not decent. Growing up in this neighborhood, Jozsi has been running this soup kitchen for seventeen years, providing about 200 children with a meal every day. They come to the gate with a pan or something similar, they hand it in and get it back filled with a meal. Some run with it “home” and others eat it on the spot. You have to see it to believe that this is still necessary in our EU in 2022. Jozsi receives support from the ORA foundation from Austria for this. Here is the link to the ORA website. Until recently, he also ensured that about thirty children were washed and given

Just a short report of the trip that Nico and I are making to Romania, which started on Monday 18 July with a flight from Eindhoven to Debrecen. At the time of writing this it is Sunday July 24th and we are at Csaba and Imola in Breaza. Tuesday 19 July we had good conversations with Attila the manager of the farm in Marghita, we stayed there in the beautiful guest house. The farmers in Romania are having a hard time, the price of diesel oil, fertilizer and labor costs are skyrocketing. The persistent hot and dry weather causes many crops to fail. In any case, thanks to Attila's craftsmanship, the harvest of wheat and rapeseed was successful. The wheat even very well 1.025 tons set a new record. The rest of the crops have to wait. Vegetables and potatoes are reasonably successful thanks to the irrigation system with water from the lake. Without this possibility, vegetable cultivation is impossible. Cristi started cleaning up the fire damage and installing a new roof in Botosani last Monday 11 July with a team of sixteen. This was successful, the building is watertight again. The wooden beams have been replaced, just like the wooden roof decking, a layer of foil has been stretched over it, making it waterproof. New roof panels were not immediately available and the budget does not yet allow for this investment. Thanks to a number of generous donations from people who wanted to help, St. Promotion was able to transfer another € 1.500,- . Thank you very much for this! The bank statement shows the name of the giver and not the address. It is therefore not always possible to thank everyone personally. Here is the link to photos of the restoration work. On Monday 11 July, the truck we had loaded with mainly goods from the Vomar was unloaded in Botosani. The first delivery van from the Ukraine was loaded almost immediately and these items were brought to the Ukraine. This was repeated l

Heerhugowaard and Langedijk have merged into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard. In this context, there will be, among other things, new walking routes containing plastic tiles with photos and images of associations and foundations. A QR code will also appear in the tile, after scanning this with your smartphone, a video about the activities of this club will appear. Atelier Six will carry out this project. On Tuesday 5 July, Rien Bakker from Atelier Zes came to visit to make a film about our work. Click here to view the preview. The same morning Wim Bos from Weesp brought a number of pallets of food and a pallet with booklets about the gospel in the Ukrainian language. Via Cristi from Botosani, they go to an organization in the town of Volovăţ, not far from the border with the Ukraine. Wednesday, July 6, we loaded the goods made available by the Vomar, as I wrote in the previous blog, these are destined for the Ukraine. Supplemented with goods from our own stock, it has become a be

On Wednesday 29 June we were able to put together a nice cargo with destination Breaza. From here it goes to a very diverse group of aid workers in the region. Imola and Csaba's network has expanded considerably over the years, which is a great development. Loading went smoothly and at 1 pm the Romanian truck and trailer left for Romania, it was the thirtieth load of relief goods we have shipped this year. The pick-up jobs were also finished at about 2 pm, good that there were quite a few volunteers again, it all went very smoothly. Here is the link to photos. The truck was unloaded on Saturday morning in Breaza, fortunately early in the morning because the temperature in Romania during the day is uncomfortably high, sometimes above 40 °C !! That is not healthy for humans and animals. The farmers are also anxiously waiting for rain, many crops are in bad shape due to the persistent drought. Here is the link to photos.
