We have had a special week. There were already an exceptionally large number of pick-up jobs for Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, three more trailers were added, really unbelievable. Getting all this sorted out was quite a challenge, Wednesday 23 February the permanent core of our volunteers worked hard. Jan Valk, the founder of St. Promotion, had immediately made a plan for this. After solving some start-up problems it started well. For last Friday we called on our part-time volunteers and with a total of almost 40 people, after a long day, almost everything had been sorted and repackaged. Great that this worked, many thanks for that. Here is the link to photos. During the day more and more messages came to my phone asking about relief supplies and money to help the refugees from the Ukraine. And if possible the people in the country itself. Max Veenstra of the HRIF foundation from Weesp immediately took action and will distribute relief supplies from a storage depot in P

The past week has gone by quickly, a lot has happened, not only here but also in Romania. It started on Sunday evening with a message from Toth Attila. A fire had broken out in the gypsy neighborhood of Apalina near Reghin. A disaster for those involved, below the link to the photos. Toth Attila is talking to the mayor of Reghin to find a solution for the re-housing of these people. The question from us, how and with what can we help (?), has been put to him. Here is the link to the photos. I have now received many photos of Miranda and Gerard-Jan's journey. For example of the projects they visited together with Csaba and Imola from Breaza. I think it turned out to be a journey that made a big impression, the photos already give a good idea of it. I expect there will be a lot more talk about it after they get home. Here is the link to photos. In the care center in the town of Deda, not far from Reghin, many improvements have been made, partly thanks to the things we have brough

On Wednesday 9 February the sixth truck with relief supplies was sent to Romania . The destination was Breaza where the truck was unloaded on Saturday 12 February. Loading with a small group went well. Another team was bringing things to St. Hrif in Weesp, then collecting them in Hoorn and Heerhugowaard. A second team has done pick-up jobs in Schagen and Egmond. So it was another day well spent. The rest of the week passed relatively quietly. The link to photos. Inci and Domien from Salard were able to pick up the stuff from the farm in Marghita that we recently brought there. For many years they have been helping the people in Salard who need help. The children who are taught there have the chance of a better future. The program with the elderly gives these people support and they are less alone. The home care program is important for those who need medical help and care. Here is the link to photos. Reghina from Ticau had to contend with a broken alternator in her Opel combo. She coul

The week started on Monday 31 January in stormy weather with picking up a batch of new boots from Aldi in Culemborg and Groenlo. A nice party that we can make a lot of people happy with. Jan Valk and I were working on it all day. Tuesday 1 February Nico and Haye went to pick up a load at the Waypoint second-hand store there, we always get useful stuff from them. It is a large organization, the net proceeds go to aid for addicts. The 5th truck of relief goods in 2022 was loaded on Wednesday 2 February, this time with destination Marghita and Ticau. We had a nice stock, very suitable for sending to our target group in Romania. The problem was that the storage was quite full and not everything was well organized. With combined forces, it worked out well and the truck was loaded at a good pace. There were again a number of pick-up jobs and all in all it was a well spent day for the people who voluntarily invest their time in this. Here is the link to photos. Friday morning, February 4, the
