On Tuesday, January 24, the repackaging of the food from crates into boxes was successful. At least 25 people came to help, it was another fun happening. After lunch everyone went home satisfied. The empty crates could be returned to their rightful owner in the afternoon. Thanks to this action we can send a nice batch of valuable food to Romania and Ukraine! Here is the link to photos. Wednesday 25 January turned out to be a busy day with collection jobs, repacking work and after lunch loading a truck with destination Marghita. It's nice to see that so many people want to contribute to make this a success every time. Here is the link to photos. Saturday morning the cargo was unloaded in Marghita. The truck is immediately loaded with potatoes and vegetables for Botosani from where most of it goes into the Ukraine. The link to some pictures. Via Cristi from Botosani I again received a whole series of photos and videos from Igor from Ukraine. From the soup kitchen that we support, but

Last week I wrote that no truck came to load, fortunately that has been very different this past week. On Tuesday, January 17, a Polish truck came to load, the goods had Ukraine as their final destination, this to projects of the HIRF foundation from Weesp. They go there via a transfer point in Warsaw. 5 pallets of cake and 10 pallets of flour were loaded in Broek op Langedijk, after which the truck left for Weesp, where it was loaded with other relief goods. Here is the link to photos. On Wednesday morning, January 18, a truck came to load for Botosani with a stopover in Ticau near Reghina. We were able to load the truck with very necessary and useful relief supplies, really unbelievable that all this comes our way. The truck was full by lunchtime. Here is the link to photos. After lunch the second truck came to load with destination Breaza. This too was filled with many beautiful and diverse goods that end up in Romania in places where they can use it very well. Unfortunately, it was not possible to get a Romanian trailer to load for Breaza. Goods traffic between Romania and our country has not yet got off to a good start. Tuesday 10 January we were able to collect a very nice batch of flour, a considerable load and very useful. Especially now that there is a lot of hunger in Romania and Ukraine, this is a very welcome addition to the package we can offer. On Wednesday there were still a number of collection jobs, as well as the necessary repacking work. We have not been idle with a large group of volunteers. A few people were able to get to work on Thursday, goods were collected and brought in and out of our warehouse. There is now so much that we will try to load two trailers next week. The first goes to Breaza and the second to Botosani with a stopover in Ticau near Reghina. I hope it works. Part of our stock will go via St. HIRF from Weesp to a collection point in Warsaw next week. From there it then goes to Ukraine with vans, a tried and

Monday 2 January there was an opportunity in the Allemanskerk to say goodbye to Nin de Vries for the last time. It was done in a loving and dignified way, we will miss him but not forget him. Tuesday 3 January there was a big collection job of beautiful, usable products. On Wednesday, January 4, a truck was supposed to load, but due to a setback, the driver did not arrive until the beginning of the evening. There were plenty of other useful jobs for us to do. With a small group we loaded the truck in just under two hours on Thursday. It was a brand new trailer loading for the first time. It was also special that the trailer went on the train in Köln and then goes from Arad to Botosani with another tractor in front of it. It has become a very nice cargo, much of the cargo will eventually go to Ukraine. Here is the link to pictures of the loading. On Friday there was another collection job in the middle of the country, so we didn't sit still. Via Cristi I received photos of the distr

The last blog of the year 2022 starts with a sad message. Monday 2 January is the funeral of Nin de Vries, Nin turned 83 years old, he has been a volunteer at our foundation for years, we will miss him. It is no news that we have had a very special year. The worst problems with the corona pandemic were barely over when the war in Ukraine unleashed by Putin broke out. It is almost impossible to imagine the misery that has caused. It has also changed a lot for our foundation, suddenly we became involved in helping refugees who flow into Romania. After a short time also to refugees who are taken care of in "safe" cities in Ukraine itself. We received goods from sponsors and the financial opportunity to help seriously. We were able to offer a lot of help, especially through the depot in Botosani, Cristi is the pivot in the story there. Unfortunately, “the novelty” is wearing off a bit and many first responders have already stopped. However, help is needed now more than ever, so
