Weekly update 12/23

On Wednesday, March 22, we loaded no less than three trailers in Broek op Langedijk. All five thousand packages of food that we made a few weeks ago with a large group of volunteers are now in Romania!

As an extra load of biscuits, various foodstuffs, some furniture and lots of clothes. The three trucks arrived in Romania on Friday, and unloading has already taken place in Marghita, Ticau and Botosani. Monday still in Floresti, Breaza and Reghin. From there, the people on site can ensure that the packages reach the people we look after together. We had already sent the first 1,320 packages a week earlier and some of them have already been distributed. More on that later in this blog, it makes the importance of this action very clear.

In addition to loading three trucks, there were also collection jobs and sorting work, it has become a long and busy day that we look back on with satisfaction.

Thursday 23 March we were able to collect 20 hospital beds in Schoorl.

The truck with potatoes and vegetables from the farm in Marghita was brought to Ukraine via the Cristi depot with delivery vans. All in all, we have been able to make an enormous amount of food available to poor people in Ukraine and Romania.

Cristi is busy with the paving around Casa Ioana and has guests from Denmark visiting. So, as always, he has plenty to do.

Reghina from Ticau received her parcels on Saturday morning together with potatoes and vegetables from the farm. So there is again a lot to hand out in Ticau and the surrounding area.

Imola wrote an update on her blog. This time it is about the work of Elena from
Urmenis. An interesting story about how people live in the villages in this beautiful area.

Henk Muller from Band has been building like every week, distributing food and this time also with an illegal dump. It's all amazing and it's great that we can support him with this. The first shipment of packages has already been distributed.

Joszi from the soup kitchen for children from Tirgu Mures has started adapting the shower and washing room for these children. It just needs to get a little better.

Virorel and Elena from Deaj have also been busy offering help to their fellow man. It is again impressive, how important these people are to the people around them.

Next week there are pick-up jobs, we're not going to load a truck. Together with two travel companions I will be going to Romania for a few days next week. We visit the farm in Marghita and a number of projects in and around Breaza.
