Weekly update 11/23
Wednesday, March 15, we loaded the first trailer with 1,329 Easter packages along with other useful items. It went smoothly and the truck was nice and not over loaded. In the meantime, this truck has not encountered any problems at the border in Romania and they will unload in Breaza on Monday. There were still collection jobs and the trailers that had been used temporarily as storage have also been unloaded. Seed from bulk packaging is repacked in small bags. Jan Pilkes from St. Caritas takes half to Ukraine, the other half went to Breaza. I'll be curious to see what can be harvested in the end.
Thursday we were able to pick up a batch of food in Amsterdam. All together great result.
Attila from the farm in Marghita was able to send a trailer full of potatoes and vegetables to Cristi in Botosani. It was unloaded there on Saturday, most of it will go to Ukraine in a very short period of time.
Reghina from Ticau started cooking for people around her, the people were happy and grateful again.
Henk Muller has been busy building houses, distributing food etc..etc. nice and useful work.
Ronald Wolthuis of the Phoneo foundation has received a food truck from someone for his work in Ukraine. He is very happy with it.
Elena and Viorel from Deaj have also been very busy helping the poor
people in their environment. The accompanying photos speak for themselves.
If everything goes according to plan, three trucks will load next Wednesday, if this works out, all Easter packages will be in Romania in a very short time. There are still some pick-up jobs, so we don't have to get bored.
