Weekly update 52/23

I didn't intend to post on our blog again this year. However, so many messages and photos came in that I couldn't resist sharing them. On Wednesday, December 27, we were with a small group and did some pick-up jobs. The warehouse has been cleaned up. There is a nice amount of very useful products in our storage. We can load the first truck in 2024 on January 3. The weekly report from Deja is impressive again. It is very important what Elena and Viorel do for their fellow man. Going hungry in the cold is just really bad. Many families lack everything, including food. This is a complete disaster, especially for children. It's great that we can support Viorel and Elena with their work. Here is the link to photos with an explanation. Pieter Nagel has finished handing out the packages, in the photos you can see that they mainly ended up with older people. Help is also desperately needed for these people. Fortunately, Pieter has recovered well. Here is the link to photos. Henk Mu

No truck was loaded on Wednesday, December 20. Our storage had been cleaned up and goods had to be collected. It has still been a busy day. The volunteers went home with a nice Christmas package, made available by Van den Heerik b.v. A token of appreciation that was very much appreciated. Jan Pilkes from the Caritas Ukraine-Holland Foundation unexpectedly received another truck to load for his projects in Ukraine. We were able to donate some of the stock. A nice load of relief goods left De Rijp on Tuesday, December 19. Transport to and from Ukraine has become particularly difficult. Trucks carrying relief goods or food and tankers, etc., are slightly less affected, but the queues at the borders are very long. Cristi sent a video of the enormous queues of trucks going from Romania into Ukraine. Here is the link to this video. It is impossible to predict how this will all continue in Ukraine. An awful lot of people are in trouble and are having a hard time. It seems that human lives do

On Wednesday, December 13, we were able to load two trucks with very useful goods for our projects in Romania. It took some hard work, there were also pick-up jobs, so there was plenty to do. Here is the link to photos of the first loading. Here's the link to loading the second one. The bow cannot always be tight, so we enjoyed a delicious meal with the “hard core” of our volunteers. This in the classic Chinese restaurant China Garden in Broek on Langedijk where quality comes first.   The distribution of Christmas parcels in Romania will continue for a while, together with the overwhelming amount of other goods that we brought with the latest transports. Henk and Marin in Band are busy with all kinds of things. Henk Muller travels a lot again and has all kinds of special encounters. These are short impressions but fun to see. Organized another clean-up day, very useful, shame about the bad weather. Here is the link to photos with an explanation. The depot in Breaza is still busy wi

On Tuesday, December 5, we were able to replenish our stock with beautiful and usable goods. On Wednesday, December 6, the truck that came to load for Breaza arrived in Broek op Langedijk on time, even with double crew. There was a lot of stacking and repacking work, so a lot of work had to be done. It was cold in the warehouse so that helped to maintain the temperature. At 1:00 PM a very nice load left for Breaza. There were still collection jobs, fortunately there were enough volunteers to help. Without the efforts of all these people it simply wouldn't work. Here is the link to photos of the loading The distribution of Christmas packages in Romania is now well underway. Reghina from Ticau sent photos. Handing out hot food on a table along the road, handing out food and handing out Christmas parcels. Have a house built to replace a very dilapidated building. It is all meaningful work, at this time of year it is extra important to have someone like Reghina in the middle. Here is t

Pieter Nagel from Minis had his packages collected from Marghita. Together with farm products and extra cake. He couldn't do much himself, suddenly very ill. Fortunately, things are now on the mend again. In Broek op Langedijk the stock is back at a good level and next Wedne
