Weekly update 50/23
On Wednesday, December 13, we were able to load two trucks with very useful goods for our projects in Romania. It took some hard work, there were also pick-up jobs, so there was plenty to do.
Here is the link to photos of the first loading.

The bow cannot always be tight, so we enjoyed a delicious meal with the “hard core” of our volunteers. This in the classic Chinese restaurant China Garden in Broek on Langedijk where quality comes first.
The distribution of Christmas parcels in Romania will continue for a while, together with the overwhelming amount of other goods that we brought with the latest transports.
Henk and Marin in Band are busy with all kinds of things. Henk Muller travels a lot again and has all kinds of special encounters. These are short impressions but fun to see. Organized another clean-up day, very useful, shame about the bad weather.

The depot in Breaza is still busy with people coming and going to collect the items we have brought. The people within the network are extra motivated by the poverty around them. A man with one leg happily leaves the yard with the mobility scooter from Magnushof from Schagen, see the photos.
Csaba's Mercedes bus is already quite old, this type is very strong and very reliable, but does not have a good reputation for rust. To pass the technical inspection, something had to be done about this. A friend of Csaba tackled this thoroughly, he removed all the rusted parts and welded in new parts. Then “just” a new layer of paint. The bus passed the inspection without any problems.
Toth Attila sent photos of the distribution of the packages. These are busy weeks for him, the church, the orphanage, the after-school care, the second hand shop, the farm with wool pigs, caring for poor people. This is not even a complete list of his responsibilities.

Elena and Viorel have done a lot of work again, they are very important to the people around them and many others. Haranglab is still on my mind after my last visit, good to see that they are getting help.
Viorel's electricity costs are high, to structurally reduce this, a sponsor has made it possible to invest in solar panels.

Getz, the village near the farm in Marghita, has improved a lot compared to when we first came here many years ago. It's a great example that giving help changes things in the long term.
We won't be loading a car on Wednesday, but there is a serious amount of stacking work and a few pick-up jobs.
We will hold the traditional New Year's reception for volunteers and sympathizers on Friday, January 12, 2024 in the Heerhugowaard fire station.
