Henk Muller from Band sent photos of the distribution of packages and a children's afternoon there. He also sent a message that he was going to visit a friend in the Netherlands who had suddenly become very ill.

Pieter Nagel from Minis had his packages collected from Marghita. Together with farm products and extra cake. He couldn't do much himself, suddenly very ill. Fortunately, things are now on the mend again.


In Broek op Langedijk the stock is back at a good level and next Wednesday, December 6, there will be the opportunity to load a nice load again.

This goes to Breaza, which I wrote before. Thanks to Csaba in Imola, we reach a lot of people who desperately need help.

Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. I don't know (yet) where the trailer is, we'll hear more about this early next week. Here is the link to photos. Weekly update 14/24

Another great week behind us with a lot of work done. On Wednesday, April 3, there were collection and clean-up jobs and stock from our temporary storage was brought back to the Dulleweg. On Thursday, April 4, there was a clothing campaign in a store in Heerhugowaard. And on Friday April 6, two trucks came to load. As a result, all the last 2.600 Easter packages are now on their way to Romania. A few photos of the loading. Csaba from Breaza has been busy delivering the first shipment of packages. The Phoneo Foundation from Reghin allows him to use a very handy van for this purpose. Many packages have already been delivered to people's homes. The rumors are spreading fast and he has already received questions: when are you coming to us? The poorest people are hungry, difficult for us to imagine, but in some communities, especially Gypsy communities, this is simply a fact. Here is the link to photos of Csaba and Imola. Weekly update 20/24

Yesterday Nico and I returned home safely from a useful and interesting trip to Romania. The main goal was to discuss the progress and the start of the season on the farm in Marghita with Attila. We were lucky with the weather, it was really spring, and the sowing and planting was in full swing. A beautiful period when you see what happens until the harvest period. I have often written that farmers in Romania are having a hard time due to... the low prices they receive for their products. Unfortunately, quite a few are now in danger of going under. Attila buys a large part of his planting material from a company in Hungary. A modern and large company that grows seeds into small plants under optimal conditions. During the tour we received, I asked, among other things, how future-proof this activity is. The answer was simple – as long as people continue to eat, this will continue.
