Weekly update 28/22
Cristi started cleaning up the fire damage and installing a new roof in Botosani last Monday 11 July with a team of sixteen. This was successful, the building is watertight again. The wooden beams have been replaced, just like the wooden roof decking, a layer of foil has been stretched over it, making it waterproof. New roof panels were not immediately available and the budget does not yet allow for this investment. Thanks to a number of generous donations from people who wanted to help, St. Promotion was able to transfer another € 1.500,- . Thank you very much for this! The bank statement shows the name of the giver and not the address. It is therefore not always possible to thank everyone personally.

On Monday 11 July, the truck we had loaded with mainly goods from the Vomar was unloaded in Botosani. The first delivery van from the Ukraine was loaded almost immediately and these items were brought to the Ukraine. This was repeated last Friday, the accompanying photo album provides more insight into this. In the album is a photo of a family, in the video after this photo they are under a sheet, hit by a rocket attack. It is truly unbelievable what atrocities have been taking place there every day for four months.
Here the link to photos of the unloading and distribution.
Max Veenstra also sent photos of the actions of St. HRIF from Weesp, including the distribution of food purchased locally with their support. St. HRIF also purchased no less than 400 tons of baking flour, via a Dutch farmer in the Ukraine itself. Like many others, Max also expects it to be a very difficult winter for many people there and a primary food such as baking flour can help.
Wednesday 13 July we were again able to put together a nice freight with destination Breaza. Demand in that region is only increasing, so it's great that we were able to do this. Loading went well again, as did the pick-up jobs by two teams. Saturday morning the truck was unloaded in Breaza, the distribution can start again. At the end of the week we were able to pick up 85 excellent quality mattresses from a rehabilitation center on the Overtoom on Friday, it was a nice job for Nico and me. The Joerns Healthcare company was able to supply new mattresses.
Reghina from Ticau has received a batch of potatoes and vegetables from the farm inMarghita. She was busy bringing and handing out again, great that we can help in this way.
Toth Attila from Peris sent some photos from an annual mission conference.
In the village of Getz, 9 children from the gypsy community were able to go on summer camp there. This is great for these kids at last they are not being left behind the rest.
In Deaj, Viorel and Elena have again done a good job for their loved ones, as well as for the homeless in Tirgu Mures.
Henk Muller from Band does not feel completely okay and takes it easy for a while. A wise decision in my opinion. Apparently he can't do anything at all, an album with his activities below.
Monday 18 July I will make a nine-day trip with Nico Groot (Warmenhuizen) to our contacts in Romania. We start in Marghita, then Botosani and Breaza. We will be home again on Tuesday 26 July, for that reason there will be no new update on this blog next week.
We will not load on Wednesday, but there are a number of pick-up jobs. Nico Groot (HHW) is the coordinator 06 53252564.
