Weekly update 11/21

On Tuesday, March 9, we were able to pick up 21 hospital beds again at the Hoog Duinen care home in Schoorl. Many more beds are becoming available at Magentazorg, we are going to share them with St. HIRF from Weesp.

Wednesday March 10th has become a busy day, fortunately there were enough volunteers to help. First, two trucks had to be unloaded with school furniture from the Beatrix de Burcht school in Gorinchem. The transport company that delivered the new furniture for the school was kind enough to take the old furniture to Broek op Langedijk.

Then we started loading, first half a trailer for Reghina from Ticau, mainly with food, some smaller furniture, chairs, a few mattresses, etc.

In the back, say the second half of the trailer, we loaded the school furniture for Marghita / Getz. Paul the predecessor of the Reformed church of this village knows a good destination for it. The children of the school from Gorinchem would also like to know where their “old” chairs and tables ended up, we will probably get pictures of it.

The second trailer is loaded with mainly hospital beds for Botosani. Together with all kinds of pick-up jobs it has become a long day.

That same Wednesday, the freezer trailer that we had loaded in Amsterdam arrived and unloaded in Botosani. It was freezing weather which suited the distribution. The people on the spot fell from one surprise to the other at the quantity and quality of the food. Thanks to Cristi's network and organizational talent, the food quickly found its way to families, children's homes and other reception centers. It has been a great promotion that we made a lot of people happy with.

Paul sent a few photos of goods picking up from the storage shed on the farm in Marghita. This is an important point of support in the wider area.

On Friday the truck we loaded on Wednesday was unloaded in Marghita. Immediately after unloading half of this load, Attila loaded 6,000 kg of potatoes and 500 kg of carrots for Reghina. On Saturday morning, Reghina in Ticau was unloaded, she has a large stock to hand out again. It is a beautiful sight how that all goes.

On Saturday morning, the hospital beds also arrived in Botosani, they are going to care homes in the area, Cristi has already received many requests. Often there is a lack of everything in these care homes. We also had some canned squid clothes and furniture loaded. Just like sheep cheese, which was very popular.

The construction project in SomeČ™ Odorhei has also continued, the houses have now been given a color, some second-hand furniture has been purchased, new wood stoves are also burning. The people concerned have been helped enormously with it and very happy with it. The attention and help they now suddenly receive has a very positive effect in this community. The mayor is now also satisfied with it. It is snowing and cold in Romania, when the weather is better there will be concrete floors in the houses and also outdoor toilets. A great achievement by Reghina to make this happen. On Saturday afternoon she immediately delivered part of the cargo that had arrived in the morning to these people.

Imola from Breaza has written another post on her blog, where people are also happy with what we make possible.

Henk Muller also sent photos from Deaj taken while handing out things. It gives a nice glimpse into the lives of people on the margins of society. Next Wednesday we will also load some goods for Henk which he can then pick up in Breaza.

We expect quite a few items to arrive next week, next Wednesday we will be loading for Breaza and then also take some items for Henk Muller. There are also a few more pick-up jobs.

The third wave of the well-known pandemic seems to be emerging, so we must be and remain careful, for our own health and that of others. So do not come to Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk without notice.
