Weekly update 10/21

On Tuesday 2 March we were able to pick up hospital beds in Schoorl at the Hoog Duinen care home, part of Magentazorg. There are still quite a few beds available at Magentazorg, too many for us to see if a partner organization has a destination for them.

On Wednesday, pick-up jobs were done, tidied up and preparations were made for transport with a freezer trailer on Friday. Sheep cheeses have also been cut into smaller pieces. The taste is delicious, they also find this in Romania.
Delicious spekkoek.

In Amsterdam on Friday afternoon 5 November, with the help of a few people, a Romanian truck with a freezer trailer was smoothly and properly loaded. It has become a great load of food that they will be very happy with. From Hekos, the company opposite our warehouse in Broek op Langedijk, we received a batch of special sandwiches and pancakes. Read more about this beautiful company hekos.nl here. Via St. HiRF from Weesp cake bases, chocolate cake and other tasty things. Many useful and nutritious foods from St. Manna are sure to please. Wednesday, March 10, the truck arrives in Botosani, Cristi's organizational talents will come in handy again. The efforts of many of his contacts are indispensable to distribute this enormous party quickly and properly. These are increasing, a good friend of his has a tire shop and some time to spare. He and his wife are now going to take relief supplies to villages near Botosani. They have been impressed by the conditions under which many people live there. The father and father-in-law also happily bring milk and bread to the villages.

The building permit for the new children's home at Casa Ioana is now complete after a lot of hassle and construction can continue. Something that Cristi is very happy with is not easy to achieve something like this in Romania.

We also received another message from Salard, which is nice to read. Attila from the farm has again had potatoes and some of the relief supplies brought to Salard.

From Marghita Attila sent a few pictures of the spring work, always nice to see.

The construction of houses near Ticau has continued after a good conversation with the mayor of SomeČ™ Odorhei. The construction freeze was to be extended by one month, but Reghina has to convince him that this is not possible. He is now cooperating, something that is very important for now and in the future. The construction workers who worked on the first two houses have temporarily moved abroad to earn money. Reghina has been able to put together a different team, a bit more expensive. The costs of the project are already rising somewhat because it has been decided to insulate the houses and to build them on the inside and there must be stoves. They are still very simple houses without running water, gas and electricity, but it is of course a huge improvement compared to the current impossible situation. Fortunately St. Emeth and St. Promotion have loyal sponsors who again help to make this financially possible. Thank you very much for that.

Henk Muller also sent photos from Deaj again, it beautifully shows what the daily existence of these people looks like. Help is and remains necessary to give them a little bit of a dignified existence.

Willem visited us in 2014, Tristan and
Elena especially liked the polar bears.
Willem Twijnstra, a trucker who in the past regularly drives to Romania for us and with his own Scania, has started a new adventure. He has become an iceroad trucker and drives the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road.

On Tuesday, March 9, furniture comes in from a school in Gorinchem, they are brought. There was a demand for, among others, Paul from Getz, we are going to load them on Wednesday is the planning. We combine this with goods for Reghina from Ticaau. Next Tuesday we can also pick up 21 beds at Hoog Duinen in Schoorl.

Wednesday, March 10, if successful, two Romanian trucks will be loaded, one load of hospital beds will then go to Botosani and the other to Marghita and Ticau.

That way we keep busy, too bad but we still have to observe the Covid-19 measures, especially in our region the virus is re-emerging. Do not come to Dulleweg without notice.
