Weekly update 13/21

Monday, March 22, we started collecting seed potatoes from Agro Strum BV in the Wieringermeer, which
will be used on the farm in Marghita. The seed potatoes are of the Spunta variety, this potato is doing well in Romania. Gerrit Beetsma put us in touch with the Sturm family, they have a very nice farm. There is plenty to say about all the changes in the Wieringermeer, it was a nice meeting.

On Tuesday, March 23, we were able to pick up beds again in Heerhugowaard at the Zuiderwaert care institution, part of Magnenta care.

Wednesday, March 24, we immediately loaded some of the beds, together with the seed potatoes, oliebollen mix, Dutch "powder nuts", chocolate spread, clothing, furniture, etc. The truck had a double crew, Friday morning they were already in Marghita. Had no problems, everything went well. Attila is happy with his seed potatoes from the Wieringermeer and the hospital beds are well received in the local hospital.

On the same Wednesday there were also pick-up jobs and food was repackaged. A nice quantity and quality that will surprise many people. On Friday, March 26, we loaded these goods into a trailer that will arrive in Breaza next Monday or Tuesday and then on to Henk Muller in Deaj. The donor of these goods wants to remain anonymous and no photos or publicity about this aid action, something we naturally respect.

The container with complete bakery equipment has been brought from the farm to Getz. Another baking test has been carried out, the result looks good.

Reghina has continued to distribute, concrete floors have also been poured in a number of houses. The videos are also nice to watch.

Cristi from Botosani can continue with the construction of the extension of Casa Ioana for the time being,
members of a church in Denmark made this possible with a large donation. There are no boring moments for Cristi in Botosani. Children's homes are bound by many rules and are regularly inspected, as is the second-hand goods store affiliated with Casa Ioana. Following all the rules correctly is a comprehensive and not an easy task.

Henk Muller again sent pictures, he has run out of relief supplies a bit, so good that food is on the way again. Henk is also active in setting up garden projects, a great initiative that helps people to become independent.

In Breaza it was very busy with handing out the goods, they do a good job there, it is not easily too much for Csaba and Imola. Milan their eldest son (12 years old) has had an operation on both ankles to improve the position of his feet. After a week of plaster, he is now in rehabilitation, everything went well. Before he can really run it will take a while, it all still works a bit au. The whole family is happy this annoying but unfortunately necessary operation was successful.

The children in Romania have an extra long Easter holiday because of increasing the number of infections.

On Tuesday, beds can be picked up again in Heerhugowaard. On Wednesday there will be a trailer loading for Botosani and there will be pick-up jobs.

In the Netherlands, we have not finished reducing infections yet, so do not come to Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk without notice.

A large number of the seniors among our volunteers have now received an injection or at least received an invitation. At the beginning of June these people will have more freedom of movement again and I hope many others too.
