Weekly update 2/ 2021

We started the year good and full of energy; two trucks were loaded and unloaded at their destination in Romania.

Monday, January 4, we loaded a truck in the morning with destination Pieter Nagel in Minis. On Wednesday morning, January 6, he was already unloaded there, Pieter was happy with the load, he can help many poor people to get through the winter months.

Monday afternoon we were able to pick up some goods in Amsterdam, just like Tuesday in Weesp and Harderwijk. Our stock remains well; we can therefore continue to share with people who are less fortunate than we are. With the photos and reports that we share on this blog, we try to make the usefulness and necessity of this clear.

Early Tuesday morning a freezer trailer is fully loaded at a cold store warehouse in Amsterdam, with various types of frozen food. Thanks to our contacts, we had hardly any work on this. Friday morning the trailer was unloaded in Botosani in freezing weather, at the end of the day Cristi his contact persons had picked up all the food and distributed it in the various villages. The rave reviews of this promotion can be read in the photo album below. Sending frozen cargo is slightly different, but it worked out very well, I think they went from one surprise to the other. The people who live around the places with garbage dumpsters in Botosani have not been forgotten either. People from Ireland have financially enabled Cristi to provide homeless people with a meal in their night shelter. You can sleep and wash there, but otherwise there is nothing, I do not know exactly how many people are homeless in Botosani but a few hundred for sure. On Google I have been searching how many homeless people there are approximately in Romania, it would be about 400.000.

I just can't think of a comment.

On Friday we were able to pick up a batch of store inventory, which is well suited for the newly opened second hand store of Toth Attila in Peris.

Marien Kroon from Floresti sent a report of his experiences with handing out food packages and potatoes, just like Domien Timmer from Salard.

Imola from Breaza sent some more photos and on her blog there are again photos and reports of those who received and distributed the goods from Breaza.

Reghina from Ticau also sent pictures again. Gerrit van der Starre has made another newsletter about the work in Ticau. Firewood has also been distributed by Reghina, not an easy job. She is very happy with what she was able to hand out.

Henk Muller from Deaj also sent a photo series with commentary, now also with assistance to a shelter for homeless people from Tirgu Mures. Here too, sitting and shaking your head, watching a human life can take a nasty turn.

Next week we will pick up goods on Monday in Zaandam and Alkmaar, probably on Wednesday a truck will be loaded with destination Breaza. There are also pick-up jobs.

In this way we keep busy and make the existence of many poor people just a bit more bearable.

The covid-19 measures are still in force, stick to them and do not come to Dulleweg 20 without prior notice.
