Weekly update 36/26 Engels

Last Wednesday, we loaded the 35th trailer with relief supplies for Romania this year.  

The trailer arrived at 10 o'clock; the Romanian driver was a bit of a grumpy type this time. The how and why of our activities seemed to interest him very little. 

Loading went well; a lot of canned goods were taken along, as well as some cookies and clothing—a nice mixed load. The first stop is the farm in Marghita and the second is Breaza. 

Potatoes and vegetables are being reloaded in Marghita again. Picking up from various addresses also went well again.

Afterwards, we were able to exchange our experiences of the recent past. Ben and his wife had returned from their trip to Brazil, where they had visited their son Richard and his family. Ben talked about daily life in Brazil and the differences between rich and poor. It is winter there now, but with temperatures above 30°C.

Richard has a greenhouse complex in Brazil where flowers and ornamental plants are grown.

Viorel and Elena do a lot of work every week, especially now that the community center in Harenglab is set to be put into use in September. The children from Harenglab will then be able to eat indoors, shower, and get clean clothes if necessary. It is also very important that an after-school care program can be started. Children who attend school in Romania are given a lot of homework; if they do not keep up, they quickly fall far behind, with all the associated consequences. The backpacks from Broek op Langedijk have also found a good home.

A small house is under construction for a family currently living under a tree in Haranglab. The roof of a small house I wrote about earlier has been sealed.

Imola and Csaba from Breaza have been busy distributing goods and receiving a trailer with goods.

My cradle was a starch box

Joszi and his team from Targu Mures have once again done good work. Their work brings relief to the community in their hard existence. The children are given the chance for a better future. There are moving photos included in the album below.

Marin and Enico Band,

Marin from Band spent 14 days in the hospital; he had to go there urgently due to stomach problems, presumably caused by eating something wrong. Fortunately, he has recovered well and is back at work, although he still needs to lose quite a few kilos. A small house is under construction for a grandmother with two grandchildren; it is a sad story, but unfortunately not unique.

This coming Wednesday, September 9, we are going to load another trailer. This one is going to Marghita.
