Weekly update 50/25 Engels
Things went a little differently last week than originally planned. Additional goods arrived, which we needed to transport due to their expiration dates. Therefore, we loaded a trailer on Wednesday and Thursday.
Loading went smoothly on Wednesday, December 17th. The driver was quite preoccupied with the weight we were going to load. In Hungary, in particular, there are strict enforcement measures for overweight trucks and trailers, and the fines are hefty. It didn't cause any problems, and around noon the two drivers left for their trip to Breaza, 2,000 kilometers east.

Wednesday evening was our annual tradition: a dinner with the volunteers at China Garden a Chinese restaurant in Broek op Langedijk. We enjoyed a lavish and delicious meal there. It was a pleasant evening that everyone enjoyed.
The next morning, the last trailer of the year was scheduled to arrive at 8:30 am. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Around 10:30 a.m., after some necessary preparations, a trailer arrived. Loading went smoothly with a small team, and all the goods we couldn't store for long were on their way to Marghita.

On Thursday morning, December 18th, the trailer we had loaded the previous Wednesday was also unloaded in Breaza. This went smoothly.
On Friday morning, December 19th, the trailer we had loaded on Wednesday, December 17th, arrived in Breaza to be unloaded. With two drivers, they covered the 2,000 km distance in record time. Whether all the regulations regarding maximum driving times were adhered to is uncertain. Nevertheless, they were pleased with the results in Breaza; while distributing them is a lot of work, they appreciate it.

Ilja Witte from Phoneo in Reghin sent a message about distributing the packages and other items. They were happy to be able to do this; someone even gave Ilja a cake as a token of appreciation. That way, it stays a bit fun.

Max Veenstra of HRiF in Weesp is also helping in Ukraine, including with donations to a soup kitchen in Berdychiv. Like Breaza in Romania, this is 2,000 kilometers away. It's good that there are people who care for each other in this horrific and now protracted war.
