In the Netherlands, we can finally call a close on a successful Christmas package campaign.

All 5,700 packages have been shipped, requiring a total of five trailers. The last one wasn't completely full of packages, as it still carried a lot of regular cargo.

The trailer we loaded on Thursday, November 20th, arrived in Breaza on Wednesday, November 26th. People came to pick them up regularly. They were very pleased with the contents, a package full of useful and necessary items.

Many people in our target group have little or no firewood for their stoves and cookstoves. To help alleviate this, the most vulnerable receive some fuel in the form of wood briquettes.

Imola sent a photo album of the project for the elderly in Breaza. It's a valuable program that this group thoroughly enjoys.

The day before, Jorg Breddermann had come to load a trailer with potatoes and vegetables for his projects in Ukraine. It has since been unloaded there, beautiful and useful work by Jorg.

On Wednesday, November 26th, we loaded two trailers. Although it seemed tense about when they would arrive, we can say in hindsight that it all went smoothly. There were still some pickup jobs to be done, but everything went smoothly and everyone was able to go home on time.

Marin and Eniko from Band are getting busier and busier with their relief efforts. Providing meals is an important part of this every week. Construction of the house I wrote about last week has begun.

Together with Elena and permanent and temporary team members, they've done a lot of work.

The photo album below gives a good impression of this. Construction of two houses has also begun. It's hard to imagine that people, especially the children, live like this, but for many, it's the harsh reality.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures shared another photo album. His work is very useful and, as in many other places, desperately needed. Here too, the photos speak for themselves.

After the parcel campaign, I thought: we'll take a break for a bit, but the influx of goods continues. Demand is also increasing, and the photos on the blog clearly demonstrate the need. Potatoes are dirt cheap here and a staple in Romania, but relatively expensive there, especially for our target group. So, I'll schedule a round of phone calls about potatoes next week.

On Wednesday, we'll be loading a trailer that's headed to Breaza. Of course, I'll be in touch with our local team about this. Csaba and Imola have indicated they can handle it. They'd love nothing more than to continue distributing the goods we've brought. They certainly see the need firsthand, and offering help empty-handed is difficult.
