Update 41/24 Engels

On Monday 7 October, the trailer that we had loaded on Wednesday 25 September arrived in Breaza. This took longer than average. Fortunately, there were no problems and they could make good use of the contents. The distribution was picked up immediately, the recipients were happy with it again.

On Tuesday 8 October, Rob's motorbike and mine returned from Romania. All that remains are the beautiful memories of our wonderful motorbike holiday.

On the same day, the trailer that we had loaded in Broek op Langedijk on 2 October also arrived in Marghita. The journey time of this was therefore shorter than average. There too, the goods go to people who can make good use of them. Often together with potatoes and vegetables.

On Wednesday 9 October, we were able to get started with a group of about 20 volunteers. The truck that we were going to load for Breaza was right on time. Everything went smoothly and there was something for everyone to do. We were able to end a beautiful day.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures sent photos and a brief explanation about a collapsed hut in the slum there. A family has become homeless and there is little left of their meager possessions, fortunately there were no casualties.

A woman with six children lives in a hut without windows and a door.

I have been to this district a few times myself and know what it is like there. I cannot find the right words for it, but the conditions in which many of these people live are very bad. The question to us is: would you like to help us buy building materials so that they can build a new home? I will receive a statement of these costs on Monday.

I have also received the photo report of the cooking and the activities around it. Fortunately, the weather is still good in Romania, but the weather can change suddenly in the fall and winter is fast approaching.

Henk Muller is busy with all sorts of things as always and sent his photos and explanations here.

Marin and Eniko from Band are busy cooking food every week, a nice program that many children and elderly people can benefit from. They also build a house.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj are also doing their work and offer help to many. In Haranglab the construction of a wooden house has started and they ask us for help with the purchase of building materials.

The parcel campaign is going well, the orders have been placed, so now we are in the period of waiting to see if the delivery will succeed as agreed. It is nice to see that registrations to come and help with packing are already well underway. Thank you very much for that.

On Wednesday we will load again for Breaza.
