Weekly update 36/24 Engels

This time first a message about the weather, I read the message below on a Romanian news site.

The summer of 2024 was officially the warmest ever recorded in Romania. Minister of Environment Mircea Fechet stated that the summer of 2024 was the warmest ever in the history of the National Meteorological Service, the agency that measures climate phenomena in Romania.

Fechet indicated that in addition to the record temperatures, increasingly severe extreme weather conditions are also being recorded.

"The general director of the National Meteorological Service just told me that she has completed the calculations for last summer and that we can declare the summer of 2024 the warmest summer in the history of ANM measurements, just as every month of this summer has broken all records of the past 100 years, since we have been taking measurements at the ANM for 120 years," said the minister.

In addition to high temperatures and prolonged heat waves, the summer in Romania also brought rain.

On Wednesday 4 September we were able to put together another beautiful load for Marghita. The truck arrived after lunch so we could make the necessary preparations in the morning hours. This time there were not many pick-up jobs. Everything went well, our storage is starting to show more empty spaces. We trust that the necessary replenishment will come. There were enough people to help again.

The meeting including BBQ for volunteers and sympathizers in Broek op Langedijk on September 28th will be a real event. We expect over 80 guests, nice to meet all these people.

There will be no new message on this blog next week, I will skip writing it for once. The reason is our motorcycle holiday, with 6 participants from the Netherlands and 4 from Romania. You can now speak of an annual tradition, the furthest point this time is Budva in Montenegro. Jan Valk is also a participant. Jan has been a teacher for years and has organized many motorcycle trips over the years. When we agreed on the destination within the group, Jan created the routes including the description. A great piece of work, for those who want to see it, click on the link below. We will also add a visit to the farm in Marghita.

Here is the link to this description.

We will load the next truck on September 25th. If I receive messages that are important, I will share them on the group app.
