Weekly uodate 28/24 Engels

Last Wednesday we were able to load a trailer with valuable relief supplies for the depot in Breaza. The truck arrived later than intended, but thanks to the flexible deployment of a number of our volunteers, it still worked. There were still some picking up jobs, all in all it was a day well spent.

It remains (too) hot in Romania, the thermometer sometimes reaches 40 degrees. That is much too high for people and animals, and it is also not good for the crops on the land. Unfortunately, a change in the weather is not yet in sight.

Csaba and a friend went to pick up potatoes and vegetables in Marghita again, and the people who receive their supplies from the depot in Breaza are very happy with it.

Marin from Band has started building a house again, it's great that all this is possible. The food program is also a resounding success. He also immediately distributed the potatoes and vegetables from Marghtia to their contacts.

On Monday, Nico Groot from Warmenhuizen and the writer of this blog will go to Romania. First we visit Attila and his team on the farm, and then from Breaza a number of other places. The warm weather was not included in the planning, we are going to make the best of it.

This year we will hold our annual BBQ in Schagerbrug on Saturday afternoon, August 3. We can once again count on the hospitality of the Ligthart family. The meat again comes from top butcher Klaver, Patricia ensures that this turns out well. One of Geeske's brothers owns the BBQ that we can use, and he is coming along as a cook this year.
