Weekly update 22/24 Engels

Our expedition, on May 29 at the RAI, to collect a huge amount of food after the PLMA fair, went very well. Hours of free shopping for a good cause in this enormous building, it is a special experience to experience something like that. On Thursday and Friday sort everything out and sort by products that need to be cooled and which do not. The first refrigerated trailer could also be loaded on Friday, which was on its way to Breaza in Romania at the end of the afternoon.

Next Wednesday we will load the second refrigerated trailer, which will go to Botosani. The non-perishable products will later be divided over various transports to Romania.

A few numbers:

On Wednesday there were 85 helpers in the part of the RAI that we were allowed to clear.

Thursday between 35 and 40 helpers for sorting. Friday between 30 and 35 helpers for sorting and loading.

In addition to seniors, also younger people, all with different backgrounds but with the same approach - this is what we are committed to -.

The result: 4 trailers full of food from all over the world.

Together with Zending over Grenzen, approximately 180 people were working in the RAI.

Planning in advance and considering how best to organize this is not an everyday occurrence for us. We are therefore very pleased that everything went so well, apart from some relatively minor things. The end result is great, it can help many poor people in Romania.

We are happy that the Zending over Grenzen Foundation from Almere has chosen us as a partner for this. Once again many thanks to everyone who helped. Without the help of all these people it simply would not have been possible.

Now it is our contact persons in Romania's turn, first Imola and Csaba from the depot in Breaza. It is a big challenge to distribute it properly and correctly to their contacts in the Breaza area. They have experience with it and are on their toes. We are very curious about the reactions of the people there.

The truck that we loaded on May 22 was unloaded in Marghita on Thursday, May 30.
The distribution will begin soon. It is busy on the farm, the first potatoes have already been harvested!!

In Breaza there has also been a coming and going of people coming to pick up things. Csaba was also able to pick up some potatoes in Marghita. It's great that we can make all this possible.

Viorel also sent his series of photos with an explanation, the people from Haranglab were happy with him again. Last year we received an overcomplete ice cream machine from Karwei from Broek on Langedijk. Viorel and Elena can now occasionally hand out ice creams in Deja.
