Weekly update 26/24 Engels

We did not load a truck last week, our stock was not varied enough to put together a meaningful load. Fortunately, this has changed since last Wednesday so that we can charge again next Wednesday.

In Romania it is uncomfortably warm, not dry heat but with a lot of moisture in the air. Above thirty degrees is simply not pleasant to function properly. There are also regular showers.

The combines are running again on the farm in Romania, the rapeseed harvest has started, and I expect the wheat will not be in the field for much longer. Unfortunately, the rain that falls regularly makes the harvest difficult.

In the nearby village of Getz, the end of the school year is celebrated. Then especially that of after-school care and everything that "hangs" around it. Nice to see this development over the years.

The last truck we loaded was delayed due to disruptions in train traffic. He'll be in Breaza next week. It was busy there, Imola sent photos of the distribution of the goods. Csaba from Breaza picked up a batch of potatoes and vegetables from the farm in Marghita last Friday.

Marin from Band asked Maarten at the beginning of the week, can I build a house for a single man who lost his house in a flood three years ago? He has lived in a kind of hole in the mountain ever since. We were able to provide this, construction started immediately near the cemetery fence. The man is very happy and is immediately promoted to a kind of caretaker of the cemetery.

Marin used a borrowed bus to pick up some of the potatoes and vegetables from Breaza on Saturday, along with some cookies. He immediately started making 120 packages of this for the poorest people in Band. When I asked on the phone whether people could use this, his answer was a resounding yes, I think he even thought it was a bit of a silly question. He is very happy that we are helping him to make some progress in Band.

Henk Muller also reports on all the goods that end up in Breaza and sends
enthusiastic messages about the distribution in all kinds of neighborhoods where poverty-stricken people live.
