Weekly update 41/26 Engels
Last Wednesday, October 7, we loaded a trailer; it is going directly to Viorel and Elena in Deaj. Fortunately, we had a good stock available, allowing us to put together a valuable load with many usable goods. As most of us know, and as has often been described in this blog, Viorel and Elena care for the poorest of the poor in their community, people who often live under particularly difficult circumstances.
It was a time-consuming job, but we managed it again. The collection tasks also went well. In between, we were able to focus on the contents of the 5,700 Christmas packages. It promises to be a beautiful package once again. It is good that we can count on loyal sponsors and volunteers!
After the work was finished, there was still time for a pleasant get-together. At 4:00 PM, Daniel, who lives near Alba Iulia, came to pick up a load with his Mercedes van. He worked in the Netherlands for a while and is now on his way back home.

It has been a special week for Viorel and Elena. The community center in Haranglab has opened. The first activity was an immediate success: eighty children were able to shower and received clean clothes. For these children, it was the first time they had ever stood under a shower. Going to school clean and well-groomed is important for their self-confidence and their chances of participating on an equal footing with their classmates.

Cooking also takes place at the center. The professional gas stove we unexpectedly received from someone in Broek op Langedijk is already proving very useful. The children receive a meal there, homework assistance, and can attend religious education classes. It is a step forward for this community. The leadership is in good hands with Viorel and Elena; it is wonderful that we can support them in this.

Meanwhile, the "usual activities" also continued as usual. Take a look at the photo album below for details.

Due to our joint motorcycle holiday, supplies to the Csaba and Imola depot in Breaza were interrupted for some time. As a result, the people who depend on it were temporarily able to receive fewer goods. Consequently, we are receiving many phone calls and inquiries. This shows once again how important our activities are and how many people depend on them.
Unfortunately, the trailer we loaded for Breaza on September 30 will not be unloaded until this coming Monday, October 12. The cause is a disruption in train traffic between Venlo and Oradea.
Toth Attila from Peris shared the video of two families moving, worth watching.

Shortly after receiving this, sad news arrived. A
house belonging to a poor family with 13 children, 6 of whom are married, burned down in Glodeni. Attila's foundation, ASOCIATIA TELEIOS, is going to help these people as well.

Thanks to a sponsor, a residential container is coming for the two parents and their children who live under two wooden planks in the Valea Rece neighborhood of Târgu Mureș. It has all taken longer than expected. This is because Joszi first wanted to consult with the mayor of Târgu Mureș about the location where the container may be placed. The mayor will come to designate the spot this coming Monday. It is quite remarkable, considering the city has 200,000 inhabitants.
In the meantime, Child Protective Services has taken a number of children from the family. They should be able to return to their families as soon as the container home has been placed.
Joszi and his team cooked for the children again and handed out food. The after-school activities also continued. This is important too.
