Weekly update 12/26 Engels
After all the hustle and bustle of the preceding weeks, last Wednesday was a relatively quiet day in our warehouse. The day was mainly dedicated to tidying up and picking up. Such a break is pleasant, but most of us hope to be able to do a bit more next time.
A trailer was loaded, however; it was filled with empty crates and then departed for Mts. Beetsma in Wieringerwerf to load 21 tons of potatoes. This consignment is on its way to Toth Attila in Peris.
The spiral of violence playing out worldwide is claiming many victims. In countries where prosperity is lower than ours, people are hit particularly hard. Our aid efforts focus primarily on the poorest population groups in Romania, and this is clearly visible there as well. It is good that we can and are allowed to make a difference in this regard.
Around this time of year, seasonal workers once again depart for various countries in Europe, hoping to earn money there. Unfortunately, the results are not always satisfactory; employment agencies often promise more than they can deliver. Of course, not everyone is capable of performing the assigned tasks properly. Moreover, for the villages, this means that children and the elderly are left behind alone, which sometimes leads to difficult situations.
The 5,700 packages have almost all arrived by now, and distribution has already started in various locations. The trailer with packages for Phoneo will be unloaded this coming Monday. The reactions regarding the contents of the packages have been very positive; I have received nothing but good reports.
The depot in Breaza near Csaba and Imola serves as an important hub for incoming and outgoing goods. It is not always easy to keep everyone satisfied, but by working well together, we always find a solution. The album starts with a nice video.
