Weekly update 24/25 Engels
It was a short working week, but we were still able to get a lot done. On Tuesday, preparations started for a busy Wednesday. Always a bit exciting, a busy schedule during a holiday period.
On Wednesday, June 11, the collection jobs went well after some unexpected adjustments. Also the collection of 80 mattresses from a care center in Den Helder. The loading of the truck could only start after noon. It was a fairly mixed load and that is why it took a bit longer than usual. With the necessary perseverance of the volunteers, it still worked. The driver, Daniel Bic from Arad, also helped and was very interested in what we do. He received a nice package for his trip to the train station in Venlo.

The truck that we had loaded on Monday, June 2, was unloaded in Breaza on Monday afternoon, May 11. It contained a large batch of potatoes, fortunately the quality was still excellent despite the warm weather. Csaba told me that the demand for these potatoes is unprecedentedly high. Csaba allowed us to send a trailer of relief supplies to Breaza every week. A trailer with only potatoes was also good! The sales area from the depot in Breaza is getting bigger and bigger.

Marin and Enico from Band are increasingly receiving visits from people from other neighborhoods. There is also a shortage of everything there, especially food. More and more children are coming to the hot meals that are cooked twice a week. One of the reasons is that young people who are healthy have gone to work abroad. Their children, the elderly and the weak, have stayed behind. Marin and Enico are therefore faced with extra demand.

In addition to handing out supplies, Marin was busy building a house that was experiencing a lot of flooding.

A new request for the construction of a house came in. It concerns a separate room for a 14-year-old girl, next to grandma's house. The girl has become an orphan, it must also serve as a safe shelter for her.

Toth Attila from, among others, the children's home in Peris, sent a whole series of photos of where our things end up, nice to see.
Viorel and Elena continue tirelessly week in week out. The flour for the bread and all other food ends up here. They were also very happy with the potatoes.

Henk Muller's activities are extensive, this time also photos of the gardens that were created with Henk's help.
Also note his message about the disaster with the salt mine in Praid. A huge amount of salt water has ended up in the surface water. With enormous pollution as a result and, among other things, problems with the drinking water supply.
Joszi from Tirgu Mures sent his weekly portion of photos and thanks us for the opportunities we offer him and his team. It makes his important work even more valuable to the people in his area.

A trailer will be loading for Breaza on Wednesday and there will be more collection jobs. I hope that potatoes will become available again. Jan Pilkes can also use them well, he is going to load two cars for his projects in Ukraine.
