Weekly update 22/25 Engels

Things went a little differently than planned last week. The trailer that we were supposed to load on Wednesday didn't arrive. Before it would go to Broek op Langedijk to load, it first had to unload at Ikea in Amersfoort. There they discovered that there was a hole in the roof, which caused water damage to the load. The handling took so much time that loading in Broek op Langedijk was no longer possible. It has now been postponed to next Monday, when we will load the already ready batch with a small team.

On Tuesday 27 May, Siem and I were able to pick up another batch in the middle of the country, mainly sweets. Good to use in the children's camps. Quite a job, but it was nice that I could drive a new DAF for a while.

On Wednesday 28 May, there were pick-up and clean-up jobs, but unfortunately no truck loading.

Mitskevych Ruslan, who came to load for Pastor Vasly on Wednesday 21 May, was already empty in Chemerivtse on Tuesday 27 May. Via Jan Pilkes I received a series of photos, everything went well and the people were very happy with the goods that were delivered.

Jorg Breddermann also sent some photos of the unloading and distribution in Ukraine of the goods that we had loaded in Broek op Langedijk.

It is good and important that we work together with other organisations in this way.

In part of Romania there is a lot of flooding, villages are flooded and the well-known salt mine in Praid is also affected by this. A lot of damage and misery for many people there.

Due to the heavy rain it is unfortunately not possible to get the batch of seed potatoes from Wieringermeer into the ground. There were good plans but it is simply too wet to carry this out. Fortunately they can also be eaten and that works well.

Csaba and Imola from Breaza run an important support centre for the distribution of aid supplies. In addition, childcare and recently also the programme for the elderly. This is going very well, the interest is great as is the appreciation of the ladies who participate. The sense of community has increased and the loneliness has decreased.

The trailer that we had in Broek op Langedijk on Wednesday 14 May was unloaded in Breaza on Monday 26 May. The distribution started immediately.

Henk Muller sent photos of his activities with explanations again. A photo album has been made of it again.

Regina from Ticau was able to distribute a lot again, a nice batch ended up with her via Marghita. The potatoes came from the Netherlands this time, the delicious strawberries from the farm.

Marin and Eniko have done the same. There too, a lot of rain in these kinds of neighborhoods, it hits even harder because nothing is set up for so much water.

Viorel and Elena have been busy, not only with the regular group of people they look after. They have also been to another village not far from Deaj, where it doesn't look very prosperous either.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures has run his more than useful program and done what he could to help the people there. The necessity for us to provide support here is also evident from the accompanying photo series.

Tomorrow, June 2, we will load the trailer for Breaza with a small team, there are again many potatoes and other nice things. There is already a loading team.

On Wednesday there are collection jobs, I will share which ones on the group app on Tuesday evening. I will not be there myself, there is a motorcycle tour organized by Jan Valk on the program. This time in the Vosges with an extension to the Black Forest. It is therefore not certain whether there will be a new message on this blog next week. On June 9th I will be home again.
