Weekly update 44/21

On Wednesday, a number of pick-up jobs were done and a trailer was loaded with destination Breaza. Loading went well and the cargo has now been unloaded in Breaza on Saturday morning. It was a load that they could really use there. The hospitals would like extra beds due to the huge influx of patients. The aid workers who receive goods from the depot of Csaba and Imola encounter more and more people with problems. A box with, for example, food and clothing does not solve all their problems, but it is an important support. On Wednesday we probably started creating space to make the packages.

Thursday and Friday we were able to pick up two truckloads of nice stuff, well suited to put in the packages, came available on time.

Regina sent pictures of her activities again, go and have a look at them. It shows why these people need help, what poverty. Barefoot kids in the mud at this time of year, I can't stand it. There are also stoves handed out to burn wood and get a little heat in the house.

Protests at hardware stores against the sale of wood-burning stoves such as in the Netherlands will not occur in Romania for the time being.

Henk Muller sent photos of the distribution of goods, just like the making and distribution of meals in Deaj. Viorel has restarted his work as well as helping the poor people in his area. Unbelievable this resilience, so soon after the death of his wife, daughter and newborn granddaughter.

Toth Attila sent pictures of founding a club where they will learn to play the guitar. Also from funerals in Apalina, there seems to be no end to it for the time being. In these kinds of neighborhoods, the vaccination rate is very low, with all the consequences that entails.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we will prepare the packages with the "hard core" of our volunteers. It has to happen on Thursday 11 November and Friday 12 November, when the roller conveyor is ready, just like a huge consignment of goods, especially food, to make 4,200 packages. The number of people who have registered is less than the previous times, the working method has also been slightly adjusted. We trust that everything will be fine, if there are more people who want to help, we would like to welcome you.

Weekly update 8/23

On Tuesday, February 21, we were able to collect more than 3.000 kg of seed potatoes from farmers in the Wieringermeer, a nice gesture from these kind people. Henk Muller from Band can enjoy his garden projects again. There is also plenty for the gardens in and around Breaza. On Wednesday we were able to load them immediately, together with hospital beds, apples, some cake and other food. Another nice load that arrived in Breaza on Friday evening and was unloaded on Saturday morning. Wednesday was busy with repacking work and loading and collecting, it all ended up on its feet again. Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. Weekly update 41/23

On Wednesday we were able to load another truck with relief supplies. This time for Marghita and Ticau. We had quite a bit of stock so that we could put together a nice shipment again. We were extra careful with loading so that we would not have any problems at the border. This extra work has been useful, this truck crossed the border between Hungary and Romania without any problems on Friday. Besides loading the truck, there was plenty to do on Wednesday, for example we received a batch of lentils in large packaging. This can be done in small plastic pots that we have had in stock for some time. Also picking up stuff and cleaning up, another day well spent. Here is the link to photos. At the end of the afternoon on Friday, most of this cargo was unloaded in Marghita and potatoes and vegetables were loaded there for Ticau.
