Weekly update 15/26 Engels

Last Wednesday, April 15, we once again succeeded in loading a trailer with usable relief supplies. Although our stock had dwindled considerably recently, it proved to be large enough to put together a useful shipment destined for Marghita in Romania.

This time, the regular loading crew was absent due to various circumstances. Fortunately, we have a flexible team of volunteers, and this time, with Jan, Rob, and Roel in the trailer, loading went well and efficiently. After lunch, the transport departed for Venlo, from where the trailer will continue by train to Oradea. The pick-up jobs also went smoothly.

In Breaza, the trailer carrying potatoes from the Wieringermeer, which had been loaded at Mts. Beetsma on April 8, was unloaded on Thursday, April 16. This weekend, a large number of them were planted in Breaza and the surrounding area. Many will also end up in the pan for immediate consumption.

Meanwhile, reports continue to come in from Romania about the distribution of the 5,700 packages we put together in Broek op Langedijk.

Reports on this can also be found on Imola's blog. These are written in English; a simple way to translate them is to right-click in the text and select the 'translate' option.

At the farm in Marghita, the freshly planted potatoes from the Wieringermeer were watered via the newly commissioned Pivo installation. The system looks good and covers no less than 26 hectares.

In Getz, various activities for young people took place around Easter. It is impressive to see what Pastor Paul and his team have built there over the years.

A few weeks ago, we reported on a woman who has to live with her children under nothing more than a tarpaulin. Thanks to joint efforts, a residential container has now been purchased for her, which will be placed shortly. This represents an important step towards safety and stability for this family.

At the same time, work is underway in Breaza on the prototype of a small house made of sandwich panels. The first impression is good, to be continued.

Marin and Enico cooked for the children in Band again.

The construction of the small house for the man with one leg and his family has also taken another step forward.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj have once again put their time to good use with their
admirable dedication to their fellow man.

Joszi and his team from Tirgu Mures are doing good work, as I have written before. It is good that we all support these people within our capabilities.

Thanks to people in our network, there is enough new stock on Wednesday to load a trailer for Breaza.

The next update of this blog will be on May 3rd, not April 26th.
