Weekly update 52/25 Engels

We ended the year relatively quietly. Last Tuesday, a trailer with relief supplies arrived, and Abe took care of unloading it.

On the last day of the year, Jaap and I had another pickup job. It was a long day, but with a good result. We have supplies to share with those less fortunate than us.

Not many photos and stories came in from Romania during the last week of the year. It's really winter there now, not extreme yet, but even if you don't have a good home and enough food, life isn't easy.

Inci and Domien from Salard sent a photo album of the distribution of the Christmas packages, they were more than welcome there as well.

It was no different for Pieter and Petra Nagel in Minis; the images speak for themselves.

Cristi and Alina from Botosani distributed the hampers; the many photos speak for themselves. For a few days, distributing was impossible due to the weather: a wind chill of minus 12°C combined with snow and strong winds!

I received photos of winter scenes from Toth Attila from Peris. These weren't just of the distribution of clothing, etc., but also of actual snow fun.

Henk Muller sent several messages about his activities. Sitting still isn't an option in Henk's life. He's made another trip plan and is also coming to the Netherlands.

The poor people living near Reghina, in the village of Ticau, are very fortunate to have her. She continues to distribute food and clothing.

John Fracker's blog now also features a report and a thank you for the packages he was able to distribute from the Netherlands. Here's the link to their website where you can find a lot of information about their work: https://ourlifemission.org/

I received winter pictures from Marin and Eniko from Band. Wood briquettes were distributed, as well as juice and cookies.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures also sent a series of photos of his and his team members activities. It's impressive, and it's good that, thanks in part to our efforts, he's not left empty-handed. These poor people need help.

On January 2nd, I spoke with Rob Booden at the motorcycle club's New Year's reception; it was a pleasant gathering of bikers. Rob said registrations for our foundation's New Year's reception on Friday, January 9th, are coming in steadily. More guests are certainly welcome.

The New Year's reception has become a long-standing tradition with a good rating. It's fantastic that we can use the fire station canteen for this. With the help of a PowerPoint presentation, we'll look back on our work in 2025 and ahead to our plans for 2026. The catering team, led by Hesva, has the necessary experience to make everyone happy. So put aside your last hesitation and join us.

What we do is worthwhile work, and we are blessed to have been able to do this for so long. Many thanks to our volunteers and sponsors, as well as to our contacts in Romania who are contributing to this.

The event starts at 4:00 PM.

The address is:

Fire Station

Zuidtangent 3

1702 VR Heerhugowaard

Next Wednesday, January 7th, a truck will be loaded and will be destined for Breaza.
