Weekly update 43/25 Engels

We've had a great week. On Wednesday, October 29th, a trailer was loaded. A lot of supplies arrived; there's no sign of an empty warehouse for the time being.

I've written before that cold and hunger are a very unpleasant combination. Unfortunately, this is common among the people we help. Aid workers on the ground haven't taken on an easy task. There's no easy solution to these problems.

A busy period is coming up for our team of volunteers, but what we're doing is helping.

The truck bound for Botosani was unloaded there on Tuesday morning, October 28th. Cristi sent me a series of photos and a long thank-you note for being able to distribute all of this.

Afterward, I received a lot of photos from people who received something. It might take a little time, but it's worth it.

Loading went well, and the trailer arrived right on time on Wednesday. Four teams were collecting relief supplies, from far and wide, as well as from nearby. By the afternoon, everything was back in order.

Breaza is bustling with all the incoming and outgoing goods. Having such a support center is essential for our work.

There's a new post on the Imola blog. This time it's about Elena's work from Urmenis.

Toth Attila was busy this week, among other things, working on his farm with wool pigs. It's a wonderful way of keeping pigs, outdoors and not in a mega-barn. Fortunately, sales are no longer a problem. The business still needs to be scaled up to have a reasonable revenue model. It's in the middle of nature, and there are bears and wild boars there. These animals also eat corn, which isn't good for this year's harvest.

Normal work continued as usual. Attila and his wife are always busy and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to helping their fellow human beings.

Henk Muller is at a meeting in Germany. His support staff are keeping the activities in Romania going.

Reghina from Ticau received potatoes and various other items from the farm in Marghitha. So she can continue distributing.

Marin and Enico from Band also cooked and distributed goods. The work these people do is and remains important. It's difficult for us to understand that large groups of people have to live like this. However, it's the reality of the situation, and we don't have the power to change it overnight. But we can soften the blow, and that's very important.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj have also been working hard, renovating houses, preparing food, baking bread, and delivering it. The images and the brief explanation speak for themselves. The homeless in Tirgu Mures haven't been forgotten either; in short, a lot of good work.

Next Wednesday, we'll be loading two trailers, both going to Breaza. One will be going by road and the other by train. The following week, we'll be loading another trailer that will go to Marghita.
