Weekly update 40/25 Engels
We're receiving an above-average number of offers for useful goods for our aid shipments. In previous years, there were occasional dips in the influx, but this year that's certainly not the case.
Demand is only increasing; finding the right destination isn't much of a problem. I've written before about the decline in purchasing power and rising unemployment in Romania. This directly affects the population, which was already struggling. Before the war in Ukraine, we weren't particularly concerned with this country. In collaboration with other foundations, we've shipped a lot of goods there as well. At least, the contents of six trailers.
Last Monday, October 6th, the trailer we loaded on Wednesday, October 1st, arrived in Breaza to be unloaded. The second trailer, loaded on October 1st, was mostly shipped by train. This one was unloaded on Thursday, October 9th.
Naturally, I'm in regular contact with Csaba and Imola to discuss the distribution and whether they can send this quantity to the right destination. Their network is so extensive that with a little extra effort, they assured me, it will work out just fine this time as well.

Last Wednesday we loaded a trailer for Breaza, this time also using a car we received. It will be used by the home care organization Diakonia. It's not new, but it's still perfectly usable for these people. The loading and retrieval went smoothly. We first had to unload another trailer, and then Nico and Harm went out with it to pick up more. Everything went smoothly.

Henk Muller has sent a lot of photos with explanations again. There are many, as his area of operation is extensive. He always encounters special things. The photos show that a lot of rain has fallen, and it's muddy everywhere again.

Toth Attila from Peris also expressed his appreciation for the supplies we're bringing. A girl from the orphanage has had hearing surgery, and it looks good. In the Apalina neighborhood, the police were searching for drugs and drug dealers; this is also a growing problem there.

Reghina was able to prepare and distribute well-stocked packages again.

Marin and Eniko cooked for the children again and shared goods from Breaza. A small house for the family living in a shack is ready. A simple house will also be built for a woman with three children who were evicted by their father and husband. They are currently temporarily sleeping in the morgue in the cemetery (!).

The photos Joszi sent also clearly illustrate why we're doing all this. There's been a
lot of rain lately, it's cold. Wet and all that mud doesn't make it easy for the people there. It's good that we're helping these people and children a little. Unfortunately, the government isn't doing much about it.

Viorel from Deaj, unlike usual, hasn't shared any photos this week.
Next Wednesday, October 15th, we'll be loading a trailer for Breaza; there are several pickup jobs.
