Weekly update 39/25 Engels

Both demand and supply are high, which is a good thing in itself. Picking up, unloading, and loading requires a lot of dedication from our volunteers. We are fortunate to have them, despite the rising average age. Wanting to help those less fortunate than ourselves is a given for many of us.

On Monday, September 29th, we were able to pick up a shipment in Amsterdam. Another shipment was delayed and arrived on Thursday. On Wednesday, October 1st, in addition to loading two trailers, we also had to pick up and repack. After loading the two trailers, you could see that space had freed up in our warehouse. We still have a significant amount of incoming goods in the pipeline, so this won't take long.

Loading two trailers is a lot of work; it's not just shoving pallets in. We use every cubic meter; this stacking takes the most time. Loading two trailers is physically demanding, so we deserve a round of applause every now and then.

On Wednesday, October 1st, the trailer loaded on September 24th arrived in Marghita. As agreed, half of it was unloaded there, and vegetables and potatoes were added for Breaza. On Friday, October 3rd, unloading took place in Breaza. The shipment was again in great demand.

The first trailer, which we loaded last Wednesday, October 1st, will be unloaded in Breaza on Monday, October 6th. The second was shipped by train in Venlo and will likely arrive next Thursday.

Jorg Breddermann brought a trailer full of relief supplies from Germany to a project his organization is taking in Romania. This trailer was then loaded with potatoes and vegetables at the farm in Marghita. He then took this shipment to Ukraine. Wikipedia has some interesting stories about Ukraine, click the link here.

Marin and Eniko cooked again for the children and some adults, and a little house was built. You can tell from the clothes that it's starting to get colder there too. Thanks to the efforts of Marin and Eniko and ours, we're taking the edge off their existence.

Henk Muller has been busy again with all sorts of things in various places. The white cabbage from the farm in Marghita is being put to good use; they're making a kind of sauerkraut with it.

Reghina from Ticau has received potatoes and vegetables from the farm again.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj have also been cooking and baking for the people in their neighborhood and beyond. After-school care has started, a range of activities that are all important and deserve our support.

The same applies to Joszi and his team from Tirgu Mures. It's not easy to help people in this way every day. The problems in the neighborhood where these people live are enormous. We must cherish and continue to support those who contribute to this.

Next Wednesday, October 5th, we will be loading a trailer, which will be destined for Breaza.
