Weekly update 33/25 Engels

On Wednesday, August 13th, we loaded a trailer that will be transported by road to two addresses in Romania. First, it will unload at the farm in Marghita and reload with potatoes and vegetables. Then, it will be transported to our distribution point in Breaza. We were able to put together another good load, and the truck will arrive in Marghita on Monday, August 18th, as planned.

The loading went well. The driver was still young, and Kees gave him a quick lesson in reversing. Upon departure, he thanked us; he had never been greeted so kindly at a loading location as he did at ours. He left shortly after lunch for a logistics hub in Luxembourg, from where another driver will take the truck to Romania.

The repacking and collection went well. We're running smoothly during this holiday season. I expect the coming weeks will be a bit more challenging, as the holiday season is upon us again.

Thanks to a sponsor, we were able to help Toth Attila with the costs of the summer camp he organized. It was a great success; every evening (late) I received an enthusiastic update from him. In the end, not 100 but 136 children participated. More about this in the album below.

The carpenter from Breaza, whose house was partially destroyed by fire, was fortunately able to count on support from his fellow villagers. With the proceeds from his daughter's crowdfunding campaign, he was able to begin rebuilding.

Csaba shared some photos of the last transport to Breaza.

Henk Muller is taking a break; he's in Greece. Henk is still sending photos and an explanation of what's happening and what's keeping him busy.

Marin and Eniko from Band cooked for the children again and distributed food and other items from the Netherlands.

Regina from Ticau received potatoes from the farm. Just like almost every week, she distributed food parcels.

Viorel and Elena also sent photos of what they've done this past week. It's a lot, and the photos are a blessing. In Deaj, the children can play happily in the river. I don't expect them to have a swimming certificate. The little boy in the photo above is a good example of how happy they are that people like Viorel and Elena are looking after them.

I received Joszi's weekly photo report from Titgu Mures.
