Weekly update 32/25 Engels.

A lot has happened again this past week, despite it being the holiday season.

The trailer, which was loaded with mostly potatoes on July 31st, was unloaded in Breaza on Monday, August 4th. They arrived in good condition, and distribution began immediately. They were collected from all sides, and the first ones were already in the pan Monday evening.

Toth Attila said he will use the potatoes in a summer camp for 100 children from a Roma community. The facilities for this camp are very basic. It's in a beautiful location, about 10 kilometers from Praid, in a wooded area. They can certainly use the potatoes; there's not enough money in the bank for this camp. The children look forward to it all year long; they love this camp; canceling it isn't an option. Toth Attila is confident that this will also work out.

He also sent a thank-you note for everything he can give away, along with a series of photos.

On Wednesday, August 6th, we were able to clean up, repack, continue with the pasta project, and arrange pickups. After lunch, a Romanian refrigerated trailer arrived to pick up the second batch of potatoes that were waiting at a cold storage facility on the Spanjaardsdam.

Several other items were loaded, including a few pallets of layer cakes we received from our neighbors across the street, HEKOS. Loading went smoothly, and everyone was finished on time, a day well spent.

On Saturday morning, August 9th, the trailer was already at the door in Breaza for unloading. The driver had a smooth trip and encountered no hindrance from government officials. The loaded weight, at 21,500 kg, was just slightly below the permitted maximum of 22,000 kg.

Toth Attila immediately started distributing the Hekos spekkoeken (speked cakes). The people who received them were pleasantly surprised. He sent a whole series of photos of them.

Marin and Eniko were once again important to the people in their neighborhood in Band. Making food, building a house, distributing potatoes and other things. It's hard for any of us to imagine how important that is. Fortunately, at least the weather is nice.

Reghina from Ticau was also happy with us; she received potatoes and vegetables from the farm in Marghita. She also organized activities with children, a wonderful experience for them, of course.

Henk Muller was one of the first to come on Monday to collect the potatoes for distribution; he worked on it until late Monday evening. All sorts of other things came his way.

I've often written about the incredible amount of work Virorel and Elena do every week. This time too, they continued tirelessly. The potatoes also went to the poor, as did the bread Viorel baked. It's great that he can get so much yogurt from a factory in Sibiu. The children's food is now being provided at a different location, not far from the huts where most of them live, but still separate. Viorel is now using a small old house with a large plot of land for this.

Joszi Tirgu Mures and his team have been cooking dinner for the children and some of the elderly. They've run the bath and shower program, and distributed potatoes from Biddinghuizen. The photos speak for themselves.

Next Wednesday, we'll be loading a regular trailer, which will be heading to Marghita by road. There's enough there to make a nice load. We have more pickups to do, and we still need to repack a big bag of pasta.
