Weekly update 35/24 Engels

Huibert and I are back from the well-organized and fun walking holiday in Bavaria. We had nice weather, a number of stages were downright challenging due to the distance and the differences in altitude. Despite that, we reached the finish every day without any problems.

Now I am again placing the many photos that came in last week in albums. The contrast is great between the prosperity here and the reality that the photos from Romania show.

On Wednesday, our volunteers did quite a few pick-up jobs. The stock is well up with nice usable items.

Reghina from Ticau came into contact with a car that was driving in front of her and stopped unexpectedly when she was dropping it off. She herself was slightly injured and the Opel Combo from Limmen suffered considerable damage. She is looking for a solution, the distribution will probably be at a standstill for a while.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures sent in his photos too late for the previous edition last time. It was because he was busy organizing summer camps in Praid, known for the salt mine. It's always nice to see children getting food etc.

Henk Muller picked up a bus full in Breaza twice. He was very happy with it and it ended up with poor people in many places. Henk also had another encounter with bears, it ended well.

The trailer that we loaded in Broek op Langedijk on August 21 was unloaded in Breaza last Friday. So our motorcycles are also ready to go on the road from September 10. Imola sent a photo album of the distribution of the cargo for that.

Marin and Eniko from Band also did a good job again. Providing food is and remains important, you can see that the children and also the elderly are happy about it. An empty stomach because there is nothing to eat at home is very annoying. The house is almost ready for the family I wrote about last time.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj have made food again, baked bread and were able to distribute food. Life is hard for these people and children grow up in circumstances that should no longer occur in 2024. It is a pity that politicians do not pay attention to this, structural improvements are very difficult to achieve without government support.

Next Wednesday we will load for Marghita. Early next week we will see what more can be removed and where to go.

There is a lot of interest in participating in our indoor BBQ, or the cozy get-together in the warehouse in Broek op Langedijk on Saturday September 28. Registration is possible until September 8.
