On Monday, July 15, we left early in the morning and flew to Budapest via Eindhoven. Then by bus and train to Debrecen from where we were picked up. The heat was a bit of a shock and unfortunately it doesn't take any getting used to. Fortunately, the guest house on the farm has recently had air conditioning. The heat has been there for weeks and has a kind of paralyzing effect on people, not to mention animals. Nevertheless, the crops on the farm are growing great, due to the strange weather with a lot of rain and a lot of heat, the growth of the crops is much faster than normal. Last Wednesday we were able to load a trailer with valuable relief supplies for the depot in Breaza. The truck arrived later than intended, but thanks to the flexible deployment of a number of our volunteers, it still worked. There were still some picking up jobs, all in all it was a day well spent. Unfortunately, a change in the weather is not yet in sight. Things didn't go as planned this week. Last Wednesday we were supposed to load a truck, but this didn't work out. The appointment was moved to Friday, but even then there was a hitch. Freight transport by rail has become somewhat disrupted and we are also affected by this. The new agreement is that we will load next Wednesday. Last Wednesday we were able to clean up a lot and prepare it for transport. We were also able to replenish our stock with useful items. Part of this will go to Ukraine via Jan Pilkes from Caritas from de Rijp, and we will prepare this on Monday. Jan will load their next transport on Tuesday. The truck we loaded on June 19 arrived in Breaza last Wednesday. The journey took longer than usual due to rail delays and new regulations in Romania.
