Ambalarea coletelor de Crăciun a mers bine și anul acesta. Facem asta de treisprezece ani și, după peste 100.000 de colete, avem experiența necesară, dar este totuși o provocare. Totul trebuie să fie perfect, stocul trebuie să fie la înălțime, comenzile trebuie să ajungă la timp în Broek op Langedijk etc. Ca să nu mai vorbim de faptul că trebuie să fie suficienți oameni care să ajute la ambalare. Packing the Christmas parcels went well again this year. We've been doing this for thirteen years now, and with over 100,000 parcels later, we have the necessary experience, but it's still a challenge. Everything has to be perfect, the inventory has to be up to par, orders have to arrive in Broek op Langedijk on time, etc. Not to mention, there have to be enough people to help with the packing. Looking back, we can say that it went smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere this time as well. This past week was a kind of calm before the storm. On Wednesday, November 12th, a trailer was loaded for Marghita. This helped free up the warehouse for the Christmas hamper campaign next Thursday and Friday. Fortunately, this trailer arrived on time and was full by noon. Here's a link to a photo album. We were able to immediately unload the truck that arrived from Marghita on Wednesday, November 12th, with the Penny Market goods for the Christmas packages. Here's a link to a photo album. There were two empty trailers available that we can use for a few weeks to temporarily store our existing inventory. On Tuesday, November 11th, the box hall in Barneveld delivered 5,700 empty boxes. This time, I don't have much time to dedicate to the weekly update, so I'll keep it short. On Wednesday, November 5th, we successfully loaded two trailers. This was necessary to make room for the Christmas package campaign. It was quite a job; not just shoving pallets in, but a lot of stacking. We were all happy when it was done. At least there was room for the package campaign. Here's the link to a photo album. The trailer we loaded the previous week was supposed to arrive in Breaza on Thursday for unloading. This hasn't happened yet; the story goes that it broke down. It's a shame now that a lot of things are arriving there at the same time. Reghina from Ticau was able to give out generously again. Am mai scris că frigul și foamea sunt o combinație foarte neplăcută. Din păcate, acest lucru este des întâlnit printre oamenii pe care îi ajutăm. Lucrătorii umanitari de pe teren nu au preluat o sarcină ușoară. Nu există o soluție ușoară pentru aceste probleme. We've had a great week. On Wednesday, October 29th, a trailer was loaded. A lot of supplies arrived; there's no sign of an empty warehouse for the time being. I've written before that cold and hunger are a very unpleasant combination. Unfortunately, this is common among the people we help. Aid workers on the ground haven't taken on an easy task. There's no easy solution to these problems. A busy period is coming up for our team of volunteers, but what we're doing is helping. The truck bound for Botosani was unloaded there on Tuesday morning, October 28th. Cristi sent me a series of photos and a long thank-you note for being able to distribute all of this.
