Foundation Promotie / Aid Transports to Romania

The 29 tons of potatoes we received from an arable farmer in Biddinghuizen made it a special week. Jac. Smit of St. Manna arranged this, including the transport from Biddinghuizen to the Gebr. Beetsma Wieringerwerf. This took place on Monday morning, July 28th. Immediately upon arrival, we began packing these potatoes from the crates into 20-kilo bags. They were excellent potatoes, but they went into the crates as field crops. The remaining foliage and soil still had to be removed; the machine does a lot, but there's still some manual work to be done. A big job, but the batch was ready Tuesday morning! On Wednesday, Nico and Kees picked up the portion that couldn't be shipped directly to Romania and brought in some light "stuff" that could be reloaded. Thursday afternoon, a Romanian truck with a refrigerated trailer arrived to load the batch at the Gebr. Beetsma. It contained 17,500 kilos of potatoes and another 3,500 kilos of other goodies. Încă o dată, am reușit să trimitem o remorcă cu provizii valoroase în România. De data aceasta, miercuri, 23 iulie, am încărcat o remorcă pentru Cristi în Botoșani. Din cauza unor circumstanțe neprevăzute, acest lucru nu a fost posibil o vreme, dar, din fericire, acum este din nou posibil. Această remorcă nu a călătorit parțial cu trenul până în România, ci direct pe șosea, o călătorie de 2.200 de kilometri. I ată linkul către Google Maps. Once again, we've managed to send a trailer with valuable relief supplies to Romania. This time, on Wednesday, July 23rd, we loaded a trailer for Cristi in Botosani. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this wasn't possible for a while, but thankfully, it is now possible again. This trailer didn't travel partly by train to Romania, but directly by road, a 2.200-kilometer journey. Here's the link to Google Maps. Loading went well; we were able to start at nine o'clock, and by lunchtime the trailer was full of beautiful, mostly edible, items. The collections also went smoothly, and everyone finished on time. Here's the link to a photo album. A new activity was repacking a batch of pasta from so-called big bags. It took some experimenting, and the first 600-kg bag didn't go perfectly. A fost o săptămână bună; s-a lucrat mult rapid. În România, sunt mulțumiți de ceea ce facem și am primit doar feedback pozitiv despre activitățile noastre. Marți după-amiază, a avut loc o ridicare, nu departe, dar a durat ceva timp și a fost un succes. Miercuri, 16 iulie, am încărcat o remorcă care merge spre Breaza. Această remorcă este plină în mare parte cu delicii gustoase. Mă aștept ca și copiii să fie deosebit de mulțumiți de ea. Prin rețeaua noastră din Breaza, ajungem la atât de mulți oameni încât distribuția nu va fi o problemă. Iată linkul către fotografii. It's been a good week; a lot of work has been accomplished quickly. In Romania, they're happy with what we're doing, and we've only received positive feedback about our activities. Tuesday afternoon, there was a pickup job, not far away, but it took a while, and it was a success. On Wednesday, July 16th, we loaded a trailer that's going to Breaza. This trailer is mostly full of tasty treats. I expect children will be especially happy with it. Through our network from Breaza, we reach so many people that distribution won't be a problem. Here's the link to the photos. Thursday also had a pickup job, so our supplies are still reasonably full. We could certainly use some more food. Toth Attila from Peris sent a whole series of photos of children receiving a soft drink we brought not so long ago. They were, of course, happy with it, as were the children in many other places. A short update on our blog this time, let's call it a summer edition. On Wednesday, July 9th, we were able to start loading a trailer right on time, going to two addresses: Margitha and Breaza. It turned out to be a nice, varied load, and our storage was starting to empty. However, this didn't last long; new stock arrived from three different locations. So we can continue sending relief shipments for a while longer. Here's the link to a photo album. On Friday, July 11th, the trailer we had loaded in Broek op Langedijk on July 2nd was unloaded in Breaza. Here's the link to photos of previous shipments. Csaba shared some new photos in an album about the bread program. Besides Viorel, several people are receiving flour made from wheat harvested on the farm in Margitha. In Breaza and Deda, local bakers are making bread from it, which is then distributed to people in need. It's a wonderful system that works well and is very useful. O scurtă actualizare pe blogul nostru de data aceasta, să-i spunem o ediție de vară. Miercuri, 9 iulie, am reușit să începem încărcarea unei remorci exact la timp, mergând la două adrese: Margitha și Breaza. S-a dovedit a fi o încărcătură frumoasă și variată, iar depozitul nostru începea să se golească. Totuși, acest lucru nu a durat mult; au sosit stocuri noi din trei locații diferite.
