Weekly update 9/25 Engels
All activities went smoothly last week. On Wednesday 26 February we were able to load another trailer with destination Marghita. There were two collection teams active, this time in an area that stretched from Hillegom to Den Helder.
Loading went well, the trailer was already waiting, so we could start on time. It was full before lunch, the driver had a bite to eat and then could continue to the train station in Venlo.
On Thursday 27 February Gerard-Jan was able to pick up something in Zwaagdijk.
Gerard-Jan and Miranda were also there again after their trip to Romania. They were most touched by a project by Adel, the wife of Toth Attila. Adel cares for young girls who have become mothers.
The truck that we loaded on 12 February was unloaded in Breaza on Thursday 19 February. The storage was completely full again. No problem, there are enough buyers, our goods, the flour, the wood briquettes, it helps many people get through the winter. Csaba and Imola are an important link in our network.
Henk Muller has an extensive network and visits many different neighborhoods where people have a difficult existence. In all kinds of ways he tries to help the poor people there and improve their living conditions.
Reghina from Ticau has again distributed food in addition to all kinds of other activities.
Marin and Eniko in Band have cooked again and distributed to the people in Band. Beautiful and hard work. Good that we can help these people get through the winter in a somewhat normal way. Children do not have to go to school on an empty stomach.
Elena and Viorel have also been busy again. The familiar pattern of baking bread, making food and distributing it to the poorest. The construction of a house for a poor family with many children has also begun. It is great that we can make this possible thanks to sponsors.
Toth Attila, pastor and founder of the children's home in Peris also gave us an insight into his multifaceted existence.
Joszi and his team from Tirgu Mures shared photos of their activities in the past week,
just like in previous weeks. Great work and it is good that we help these people make this possible. My greatest wish is that this is no longer necessary, I fear that I will not experience this.
Next week, a truck will come on Wednesday to load with destination Breaza. We will also start making room for packing the Easter packages. On Monday, March 3, a trailer will load the order that we placed at the Penny Market in Marghita. It can arrive in Broek op Langedijk on Wednesday afternoon, March 5. The box hall will bring empty boxes at the end of the week. The order from Lidl will also arrive at the end of the week. It is enough for 5.700 packages, an improvement of the current record by 500. It is great that we can help so many people.
On Monday, March 10, we can set up and get everything ready for the packing work. The first packages will be made on Tuesday afternoon, March 11, by a group of young people and a number of adults from the Reformed Church in Broek op Langedijk and the Kapelkerk in Alkmaar. This will be supervised by Miranda and Gerard-Jan Schuur.
On Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14, we will finish it off. The first packages will be transported immediately on Thursday, March 13. Fortunately, a reasonable number of volunteers have already registered. However, there is still room for more, if you are still in doubt whether I will participate or not, stop that and register. You won't regret it, apart from getting your hands dirty, it's fun to experience.
This action is in the interest of thousands of people who are in difficult circumstances. It's great that we can make this possible thanks to the efforts of many volunteers and loyal sponsors.
