Weekly update Engles 50/24
Finally, the time has come: Romania has joined the Schengen group. Border controls are a thing of the past, a major improvement, especially for freight traffic.
The To-Do list was tough again on Wednesday, but we can say that it worked out well. Most of us were ready on time. We were able to put together a very nice and useful load with destination Marghita. Attila already explained what he wants to do with it. The bottom line is that it will end up in the right place via the new contacts. A good development.
We were supposed to pick up hospital beds in Zeist on Friday, but that did not happen. This has been postponed to next Wednesday, Jan Pilkes from St Charitas in De Rijp will do this now. Last Thursday he was also able to pick up 19.
Pieter Nagel from Minis sent his newsletter, always good to read how he sees things around him. Pieter writes that it is very difficult to stop helping the people around him.

Marin and Eniko from Band have done a lot, just like every week. Despite the rainy and cold weather, the construction of the house I wrote about last week has started.
The building behind Marin's house now also has a wood stove, the meals are provided twice a week. It is a bright spot in the neighbourhood.
Viorel and Elena have also done their utmost. During the visit of Gerard-Jan and Miranda in the neighbourhood near the river in Tirgu Mures, the drinking water supply was also discussed. A tanker with drinking water is coming there, barrels were needed for its storage. Virorel has now provided that. He would also like to arrange stoves and wood for these people, he writes.
Baking bread, making the food, distributing it, you don't need much imagination to see how important this is.
The Christmas packages from Broek op Langedijk go from Virorel and Elena's house in Deaj to Haranglab by horse and cart. I have described the conditions in this district before.
The rain and cold there really highlight the hardship of these people's existence. Especially for the children there, it is just awful and it should not exist.

In Breaza, there is still a constant coming and going of people who come to collect the goods we brought from Broek op Langedijk for further distribution.

Imola has posted a few new messages on her blog.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures was able to distribute packages from Broek op Langedijk. It goes without saying that they also ended up there in good hands.

Henk Muller has also completed all sorts of activities. The photo album speaks for itself.

On Wednesday there will be more pick-up jobs and another trailer will be coming to load..
