Weekly update 21/ 24 Engels

On Tuesday, May 21, we started working on a major collection job. We were able to pick up a nice batch of usable goods. There were also potatoes and onions ready for us to pick up on Wednesday. So we were able to figure out how to put together a nice load for the next day.

Unfortunately, the trailer we were supposed to load did not arrive on Wednesday, May 22 due to delays, it could only arrive on Thursday. Fortunately, our volunteers are flexible and a loading team was available for Thursday. There was plenty of sorting and searching, so it was still a worthwhile way to spend the day. At the end of the
afternoon we had a meeting with a number of participants of the action in the RAI on May 29. The goal is to make everything run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

On Thursday, May 23, we were first able to do preparatory work for the PLMA action that will take place next week. Then loaded the truck with a very nice load, not long after the lunch break the truck and trailer went to Venlo. This is for the train journey to Arad, from there he goes to Marghita.

Csaba from Breaza was able to collect flour again from the Europan factory in Şărmăşag near Zalau. Wheat was brought here from the farm in Marghita last year, in return it can be collected in the form of flour. In smaller quantities and not specifically the wheat from the farm. This way the quality of the flour remains good for baking. It is a very modern company, Csaba said. There he met Attila, who brought him some vegetables and strawberries from Marghita.

The truck that we loaded in Broek op Langedijk on May 15 was unloaded in Breaza on May 22. There was immediately a coming and going in Breaza of people who came to pick up the goods we had brought.

Marin and his team were busy again cooking food and renovating houses. Building new houses is no longer really necessary, but replacing and renovating roofs is. My regular question to Marin is whether there is a father present who can do something. In this case it turned out that there was indeed a father, but he was working abroad. Then he can also contribute something, was my reaction.

Marin then said: Maarten, if there is no work in the winter and only some wood can be collected from the forest, there is a shortage of money. They can then borrow money from shady figures that must be repaid in the summer and that is the loan amount + 100%. Not paying is not an option.

A vicious circle from which they cannot easily escape, the good workers come home with money and make it through. However, things often don't go well and they get into even deeper trouble. To ensure that the children do not suffer from this, our food aid through Marin and Eniko is also needed in the summer.

Reghina from Ticau has been distributing and has been given the opportunity to build a house by St. Emeth from Heiloo.

Henk Muller also continues his activities to help people in need.

Elena and Viorel also work hard, baking bread, making and distributing food. At least the crippled woman's house is now dry, draft-free and has a door and a window.

Csaba has provided them with new supplies of flour, so bread baking can continue. It goes without saying that it is necessary, take a look at the photo album.

Joszi from the soup kitchen for children in Tirgu Mures also sent photos of his work team. This form of assistance is also important here.
