Weekly update 20 Engels
Many useful goods were offered last week, and we were able to pick them up on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 May.
On Wednesday morning we were preparing for shipment and on Wednesday afternoon a truck was loaded with a very nice and varied load. At 4:30 PM he headed to the transfer station in Roermond, where the trailer was placed on the train to the transfer station in Arad in Romania. From there he continues along the road to Breaza.
There were 16 volunteers to help on Wednesday, which is great that this is still going well after all these years. Sending a trailer every week and sometimes more, it's no small feat.
I try to make it clear every week in this blog that we don't do it for nothing. Thanks to our support, our contacts in Romania can provide help to people who often desperately need it.
Miranda and Gerard-Jan Schuur visited family in Romania and visited a number of our projects there. A nice photo album with a short explanation has been made.
Attila from the farm in Marghita sent some photos with the status of the crops, they are all growing and blooming wonderfully. I think Dutch farmers are jealous of it.

In Breaza, Csaba and Imola are busy distributing the food we have brought relief supplies. Csaba is always very serious and wants to arrange things carefully and well. I spoke to him on the phone, always good for some news. There will be new elections for the municipal council and mayors in July. Now is the time to hand out gifts to win votes. In Band, for example, there is suddenly asphalt in the street in the gypsy neighborhood where Marin lives. There will certainly be a new mayor in Breaza, the current one no longer feels like it.
Imola sent a message that fortunately Elena's hernia operation from Urmenis went well. She is walking carefully again, full recovery will take some time, but she is moving in the right direction.

There is also a new post on their blog, a report on an Easter package campaign and about the program for the elderly. Everything indicates that this will be a success and bring joy to the lives of the older people in the village.

Marin and his team have been busy again. Providing meals, building and renovating houses and so on. It's great that this is possible, slowly but surely the sharpest edges are being removed. The mother and her three children who were evicted have been living in her new house since Saturday. Marin is also happy that he was able to help her, he continues to look after them and help where necessary.
Here is the link to the construction of the house.

Jozsef from Tirgu Mures sent photos about the activities of his project. Giving children a bath and clean clothes, providing food, after-school care, also important work here for many people and the elderly. The children there know very well where meat comes from. It's good that our help also ends up here.
Toth Attila from Peris organized a successful yard sale with a nice proceeds that benefit the children's home.
Henk Muller does a lot for the people around him, he regularly sends photos with an explanation.

Viorel and Elena from Band have also done a lot of work. It's no small thing what they do there. In addition to all the work, there will be the construction of a house next week, which will solve a very distressing case. An invalid woman lives in an extension of a rickety house. The photos speak for themselves, thanks to sponsors we can get Viorel to change this. There is still a lot to do in Haranglab.
Reghina from Ticau also continues to provide help to the people around her.

Next Wednesday we will load a truck with destination Marghita. There are some pick-up jobs and we will discuss the latest status of the PLMA.
The food campaign on May 29 in the RAI is getting closer and a healthy tension is slowly building up. We work hard to make everything go as smoothly as possible. Fortunately, a fair number of people are coming to help us and many hands make light work.
On Saturday, May 25, there will be an event with vintage trucks on the site on the Westelijke Randweg near Van den Heerik.
