Weekly updat 17 and 18/24

Skipping a weekly message does not mean that nothing happened. This two-week report is not completely complete, but it is a good attempt.

No loading took place on Wednesday April 24, but a lot of useful work was done. There were pick-up jobs and clean-up jobs. The items that we had temporarily stored elsewhere were also brought back to the Dulleweg.

On Thursday, April 25, the truck, which we had loaded on Wednesday, April 17, arrived in Marghita. Attila immediately took up its distribution. Transporting the trailer by train takes a little longer, but otherwise proceeds without any problems.

Ilja Witte from the Phoneo foundation from Reghin sent a message about distributing the packages. They were happy with it.

In Breaza it is always busy delivering relief supplies, the distribution area from there is quite large.

On the Imola blog there is a report by John Fracker about the distribution of the Easter packages. A nice report that makes it clear that our action is still important to many people.

The elderly and weak in Breaza receive a food package every month. Imola, Csaba and Imola's parents have recently also organized a fun afternoon for some of them. People generally like company, but loneliness lurks as they grow older. It's good that these types of activities are there to prevent this.

Toth Attila from Peris sent a message. Unfortunately, the boy who had an accident with a horse is not doing well yet. There were funerals in quick succession. Fortunately, other things happen too.

Henk Muller is busy handing out goods, building houses, making plans, etc.

Marin and Enikő from Band do important work in their village: cooking food, building houses, etc. renovate a bit. It makes life in Band a lot more bearable for many people there. Children are no longer hungry every day. The fact that the roof of your small house no longer leaks is also a major improvement.

At first it was thought that food aid was important in winter, especially for children and the elderly. Now that seasonal work has started abroad, about three hundred people from this district have left for abroad. There are still 80 living there now. Children have often been left to fend for themselves, sometimes there is still family to look after them, but not always. Marin and Enikő are a kind of beacon for them where they also get food.

A young woman in the village with three small children has become homeless. She is originally from Hungary, her boyfriend from Band chose someone else and kicked her out of the house with the children. Marin will provide shelter and, with our support, will help her find a house. The social services of the village do not care.

The same applies to Viorel and Elena: dedicating yourself to your fellow man every time in the way they do deserves respect. So many people depend on this, it's unbelievable.

A quarterly report came from Joszi from Tirgu Mures. Thanks to Joszi and his team, many people are helped to make their lives a little more bearable. It is really important that children are helped with food, clothing and education.

Reghina from Ticau also continues her tireless work for the poor.

On Wednesday, May 1, we loaded a trailer with a very nice and varied load, which is on its way to Breaza. There were several collection jobs, all in all a useful day.

We were also able to collect goods on Friday, so our stock is still at a good level. We will not be loading for Romania in the coming week. Jan Pilkes from the Caritas foundation will receive part of our stock for his projects in Ukraine, and next Tuesday a truck from Ukraine will load at his place.

With regard to the PLMA campaign on May 29 in the RAI, it can be reported that recruiting volunteers is going reasonably well. We are still short of about 25, but we hope for sufficient registrations. To make transport to the RAI easier, we have hired a 50-person coach. Meet for this on Wednesday May 29 at 1:30 PM at Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk. There is a stopover in Zaandijk, the location has yet to be determined. The bus will pick up the passengers at the RAI at 8:30 PM. Our secretary Rob will send a message with detailed information.

To arrange access to the RAI, it is important that we have the full name and email address of all participants, preferably also a telephone number. This was not done at the last minute because Hannie from the Zending over Grenzen foundation has to make a name badge for everyone. A nice job that she would rather not do at the last minute. To gain access to the RAI, volunteers must be recognizable as working for a Sharity and therefore receive a T-shirt with their name badge on it.
