Weekly update 6/24

We have had another fruitful week in which many things have happened.

Two trucks with very valuable relief supplies have been sent. The first truck arrived to be loaded on Wednesday, February 7 and was destined for Breaza. It was the first time that Mission and Relief from Zevenhuizen had arranged this.

We still had to prepare the load, but as always, many hands make light work. It turned out to be a nice load and at 1:00 PM the driver started his journey to Breaza. There were pick-up jobs, everyone was busy.

On Friday, February 9, he crossed the border without any problems, only the back door had to be opened. The driver had to answer the question whether the entire load consisted of similar goods, this was the case. He then received a statement that customs had broken the seal and he could continue. The weight of the cargo was 20.000 kilos.

The unloading on Saturday morning went smoothly, Csaba is happy with the team of people from the village who came to help. Collecting the items also started immediately. Csaba and Razvan brought a cargo to Elena in Urmenis. It is important that Elena can do something extra for poor families there.

Imola was missing, she was in the hospital in Reghin with her son Mark. Due to an infection, Mark has to stay there for five days and Imola will stay with him during that period.

There is a new post on their blog. It is about their help to the elderly in the village.

A trailer was also unloaded in Breaza on Friday February 9, this one came from Marghita. Loaded with vegetables, potatoes and goods from a previous transport from the Netherlands. Also with flour for bread baking by Viorel and a local baker in Breaza. Csaba and Imola will then hand out the bread from this baker. First, this truck had unloaded three pallets of cake at Marien Kroon in Floresti.

The contacts who spread it further came to pick it up immediately. Well-known faces are not missing from the photos below.

In Band, the week started for Marin and his wife by cooking food for 120 children and
adults. A beautiful and useful event, which they were able to repeat again last Friday. To make this possible, we have been able to make a budget available for four weeks.

The construction of the house for the elderly woman and the child has been completed, we have a good team for the construction and it is going very quickly. It's good that we were able to make this possible. There is also something in the pipeline for other people.

Henk Muller has shifted his field of work, except in Band he is busy with maintenance on his extensive network in the wider area. Especially with the aim of helping poor people, there is no need to search with a lantern.

He immediately distributed the potatoes and vegetables that Henk picked up from Breaza. Henk also shared photos of his visit to the Weiss family. This produced very nice pictures.

Reghina from Ticau has had a large shipment of potatoes, onions and cake from Marghita. The distribution of these started immediately, helping people fills an important part of her life.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj have made it a really great week, what a lot of work these people have done! Made food for the homeless in Tirgu Mures and also provided these people with shoes and warm clothing. Bread baked for the people from Haranglab, shoes given to the children there, as well as warm clothing. Also a huge amount of food cooked for them. It seems like the people look a little happier in the photos every week.

They received money from a French foundation (from the stoves) to build a few houses, which could also be added for a while.

From the farm in Marghita, a trailer full of potatoes, onions, etc. also went to Ukraine with Jorg Breddermann. Jorg had first brought a trailer of relief supplies from Germany to Ukraine. His trailer was then loaded in Marghita and he returned to his unloading address in Ukraine.

People were very happy with it and also surprised by the great quality. I cannot fully understand the situation in Ukraine, but it is still hopeless. The recipients also wanted to give a portion to the soldiers because they deserve support and there are food shortages!

A compliment to Attila from the farm inn Marghita is appropriate. Attila has organized this week's transports in a very well-organized manner and delivered top quality products!

Goods from our storage in Broek op Langedijk were loaded into a Ukrainian truck with trailer by St. Caritas from de Rijp on Thursday. No less than 102 m3 and 17,500 kilograms of usable items are on their way to Pastor Vasyl in Khmelnitsky Oblast where they will welcome them with open arms. It's good that we can work together like this.

New stock also arrived on Thursday, so we can continue for a while. We can be happy with that, the fact that we are not doing pointless work has been proven again last week.

Next Wednesday we will load another trailer with destination Breaza.
