Weekly update 44/23

Last Wednesday and Thursday we started the preparations needed to make the Christmas packages in our storage in Broek op Langedijk. The result is that there is room for this and there is also a nice stock ready to be used to take. It will happen again next Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10. We are hopeful that enough people will come and help with this.

A truck was also loaded on Thursday and is now on its way to Botosani. At the end of the afternoon on Saturday, he crossed the border between Hungary and Romania without any problems. Monday afternoon there will be unloading in Botosani, Igor will pick up part for refugees in Ukraine.

Elena the social worker in Urmenis sent a photo report of her work for the children and families there. Thanks to the goods that arrive there via the depot in Breaza, she can do just that little bit more for these people. The fact that this is necessary for a large part of the residents of this village does not require any further explanation in my opinion, the images speak for themselves.

Henk and Marin from Band continue with their work. There too, concerns are increasing about the approaching winter and the lack of food and wood to heat the stove. Fortunately, we were able to have more than ten houses built there this year. Marin's storage, an annex multifunctional center, is also taking shape.

Reghina from Ticau sent a few messages and photos, she would like to do more. This is a question that comes at us from all sides, very understandable in these difficult times. Unfortunately, our options are also limited, just like those of others.

Imola sent a series of photos that give an impression of how the goods that we have delivered there are distributed. Many people are helped by it. Csaba said that the start of construction of the house for Kata in BichiČ™ has been somewhat delayed. It will actually happen on Monday November 6 and it could be ready in three to four weeks.

Romania also has a lot of beautiful nature and a rich history, Olaf Tempelman has once again written an article about it in the Volkskrant. It's about Transylvania and its unspoilt nature. Also about the village of Viscri that we visited in September with a group of motorcyclists.

On Monday November 6 we will continue with the preparations for making the packages. There will be a pick-up job for Nico and Siem on Tuesday, November 7.

On Wednesday, November 9, we will load a Romanian truck at the Spanjaarsdam location, which will go to Breaza. On the Dulleweg we will dot the I's and cross the I's for the package promotion. The production line will start on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 November for the production of 5.000 packages.
