Weekly update 34/22
On Wednesday, August 23, we again succeeded in loading a trailer of relief goods with destination Breaza. This with a stopover in Marghita to load flour, potatoes and vegetables. This goes, for example, to Viorel, who bakes bread from the flour for the many poor people there. Bread and flour is a basic necessity. In villages they still bake a lot of bread themselves, sometimes on a simple open fire.
Photos of the loading in Broek op Langedijk.
In the night from Friday to Saturday August 26, the truck arrived in Marghita and unloading and loading started in the morning. This under the supervision of Miranda and Gerard-Jan who are staying in Romania for a week with a group of young people from the Netherlands.
The truck arrived in Breaza in the course of Saturday afternoon. Because of the high temperature (more than 35 °C) it was decided to unload in the evening.
Thanks to our loyal sponsors, we managed to build another house in the gypsy quarter of the village of Band. Marin and Henk arrange this. It is a pity that Henk continues to struggle with his health. It is already difficult for him to make the photo report.
Reghina from Ticau has been away for a few days with a group of children.
Here is the link to a story about the summer camp.
Here is the link to an overview of their activities.
Elena and Viorel from Deaj also did a fantastic job last week. They could even hand out ice creams made with a used ice cream machine, which we had received from the Karwei store in Broek op Langedijk. An ice cream is very special for these children. Great that we can bring some joy to this community together with Elena and Viorel.
Toth Attila from Peris has organized a children's camp. Fun for these children of course 5 days at camp near Baie Mare.
On Wednesday there are collection jobs and there is cleanup work in our storage in Broek op Langedijk.
The writer of this blog is now going for a week's walk in Austria with his son Huibert.
