Weekly update 28/23

All in all, there has been a lot of rescheduling in the past week. There is a truck loaded with destination Botosani and a second with destination Breaza. Due to the violent storm of a week earlier, there were also extra collection jobs. On Thursday another tough pick-up job in the middle of the country, again successful. We have a good stock, just lacking food. Too bad because that is important for the people we care about.

Cristi sent pictures taken by Igor and people from his team in Ukraine. The goods we bring are very important to the people there. This time also a transport to the flood area.

The truck loaded on Wednesday was unloaded in Botosani on Saturday. Cristi has once again had an inspection from all kinds of authorities.

The truck that was loaded for Breaza on Wednesday was unloaded there Friday morning. Imola sent a photo album of it.

Attila from the farm in Marghita has started the wheat harvest after harvesting the rapeseed. The high yield per hectare in kilograms compensated for the low price per kilogram of rapeseed. The harvest of this product therefore has a nice positive balance. The wheat harvest per hectare in kilos is good, but the price is low. Turnover in vegetables and potatoes is low. People lack purchasing power and therefore they only buy the bare necessities. The huge market in Oradea is closed, Attila said, no more sales for the sellers.

Viorel and Elena from Deaj made the news again with his activities. It's nice to to see someone so committed to his fellow man. Glad we can support this.

Weekly update 8/23

On Tuesday, February 21, we were able to collect more than 3.000 kg of seed potatoes from farmers in the Wieringermeer, a nice gesture from these kind people. Henk Muller from Band can enjoy his garden projects again. There is also plenty for the gardens in and around Breaza. On Wednesday we were able to load them immediately, together with hospital beds, apples, some cake and other food. Another nice load that arrived in Breaza on Friday evening and was unloaded on Saturday morning. Wednesday was busy with repacking work and loading and collecting, it all ended up on its feet again. Here is the link to photos. Like every week, Henk Muller is busy offering help to his fellow man. Handing out goods, leading a youth club, building houses and surroundings. improve, you have to have a lot of energy to keep this up. H

Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. I don't know (yet) where the trailer is, we'll hear more about this early next week. Here is the link to photos. Weekly update 41/23

On Wednesday we were able to load another truck with relief supplies. This time for Marghita and Ticau. We had quite a bit of stock so that we could put together a nice shipment again. We were extra careful with loading so that we would not have any problems at the border. This extra work has been useful, this truck crossed the border between Hungary and Romania without any problems on Friday. Besides loading the truck, there was plenty to do on Wednesday, for example we received a batch of lentils in large packaging. This can be done in small plastic pots that we have had in stock for some time. Also picking up stuff and cleaning up, another day well spent. Here is the link to photos. At the end of the afternoon on Friday, most of this cargo was unloaded in Marghita and potatoes and vegetables were loaded there for Ticau. There is a very good harvest on the farm, mainly due to Attila's craftsmanship and the efforts of his team. Sales are difficult due to the greatly reduced purcha
